Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to you. Allow Your healing hand to heal them. Touch their soul with Your compassion for others. Touch their Heart with Your courage and infini-te love for all. Touch their mind with Your wisdom, that their mouth may always proclaim Your praise. Teach them to reach out to You in their need, and help them to lead others to You by

example. Most loving Heart of Jesús, bring them health in body and spirit that they may serve You with all their strength. Touch gently these lives which You have created, now and forever. Amen.

Gospel: Mark 10: 17-26 The rich young man in this story is like a mountain climber who has almost reached the summit. But the final stretch will be more difficult than the distance he has already come. He comes to seek wisdom from Jesus

about how to achieve everlasting life. He assures the Good Teacher that he has kept the commandments since he was a child. Jesus looks at him with love and challenges him to do one thing more. If he wants to reach the summit of treasure in heaven, the young man must sell his possessions and follow Jesus. This he cannot do. So he goes away sad. Jesus assures his disciples that entering the kingdom of God is no easy matter. Those who are attached to their possessions will have a more difficult time. However, those who rely on God to achieve the impossi-ble can do all good things. 1.) Look back at this gospel story. Place yourself in the sandals of the rich young man. When you approach Jesus, what are you expecting? When you tell him about how you have kept the com mandments, what are you hoping he will say?

Where does the Blessed Virgin Mary bring us?

Mary’s life on Earth was dedicated to bringing the Savior to humanity. Now that she is in Heaven, she continues to bring our concerns to her Son. Praying the “Hail Mary” is a wonderful way to honor our Heavenly Mother. Mary’s will and intellect were predisposed to holiness. Mary was honored to be chosen as Jesus’ mother. Mary knew how great Jesus would be but she also knew what the prophets wrote about him. As his mother, she wanted to share his joy and his sorrow. Mary loved her child because he was her Lord and Savior, too. Mary’s job of being Mother of the Savior broadened to becoming Mother of the world and now she cares for us. On Earth, Mary brought her Son to us, now she brings us to the heart of her Son. She prays for us always because that’s what a mother does.God bless you. Fr. Alex
