0 All learning styles are present0 Students now have been introduced to the basics of the
identities of the five senses and know them due to the previous day’s work
0 They also now know what each sense does and their importance of each sense
0 They know how the senses are used in every day life0 They should be completely informed on the senses and
know all needed knowledge
S- State Objective
0My first grade class will learn the five senses and what each sense does with 100% accuracy within four class periods. In addition, the students will learn how each sense is used in everyday life and why it is important. Students will use varied types of technology such as computers, projectors, vokis & QRs, and digital imaging.
S- Select Methods, Media, and Materials
0 The available materials that will be used on Thursday include the computer, speakers, and the projector.
0 The teacher will modify the classroom so that the students’ chairs allow an easy view of the projection.
0 The teacher will also modify the lighting so that the projection is easily visible.
0 The teacher will be the main source of verbal information and will simply use these materials and media as tools to help
0 The speakers will be used also so the teacher will need to check and see if the volume is at an adequate level.
S- Select Methods, Media, and Materials
0New materials that will be designed for this Unit include a Voki and QR and digital imaging programs such as Photoshop and Paint.NET
U- Utilize Media and Materials
0 Preview the projections from the computer to ensure the image is visible and of good quality
0 Ask the students if everyone can easily view the screen0 The teacher should ensure that everyone can hear her
when she talks and instructs and whether or not she needs to adjust her volume. She should do the same with the volume of the speakers.
0 Make sure that there is successful access to your Voki & QR
0 Preview the images created on Photoshop that will be used as review tools and ensure they load
R- Require Learner Participation
0The teacher will introduce the voki which is a talking dog named Molly. Molly will teach the students that even animals have senses and gives examples of how they use them.
This is Molly the Voki!

0Next, the teacher will sum up some of the ideas Molly had discussed
0The teacher will then introduce QRs and their uses. This specific QR takes the class automatically to a children’s science site that allows them to play a game that teaches and tests their knowledge on the five senses.
0Children will take turns in groups playing this game on the classroom computers
This is the QR that was used.

0The teacher will sum up the class by showing images created with the Digital Imaging sites that are based on the five senses. These images look like posters but can be displayed over the projector.
This is the Digital Image used for the sense of hearing.
Evaluate and Revise
0The students will be evaluated in multiple ways on the fourth day of the unit. They will be evaluated based on their participation, their interest, and their behavior and manners.
0The students will also be evaluated based on their success in matching the correct item with the correct sense on the pbs kids science website
0Students should know the five senses by now
