... for generatorsIn this application, the VECTOPOWER converts the AC voltage with a variable frequency and voltage level to a regulated DC voltage for supplying an intermediate circuit. Here, the VECTOPOWER takes energy from a generator to then feed this energy to a DC circuit. From there it goes on in the direction of a battery or mains.

Challenges... for turbines and high- frequency applications Electrical machines for high rotational speeds have an
especially small design for their output. This is espe-cially true of high-speed rotors. This not only saves expensive materials, construction volume and weight; it is also a special challenge for the inverter: The inverter-induced turbulent flows create heat in the rotor. In the case of high-speed machines, how-ever, the rotor is very small with the same output and thus the area over which they can emit the excess heat is very small as well. Heat dissipation is easier if there are fewer rotor losses.
The second challenge concerns the speeds them-selves and the related high frequencies.
For high-speed applications such as turbines with rotational speeds up to over 150,000 rpm.

The VP50 VP50-11P-025The devices of the VP50 product line are very pow-erful controller and inverter PCBs in the range of 24 - 60 V battery voltage, in other words so-called safety extra-low voltage
DesignDue to the normally very tight installation situations, these series do not have their own housings. Instead, we offer PCBs for installation in solutions at the customer. If you should need other dimensions than those listed, then asks us for a suggested solution!
Customer-specificApplication-specific modifications to the PCB are also possible. Tell us your requirements!
With their peak power of up to 2.5 kW and a PWM fre-quency of 18 KHz, VP50-25 for example was originally designed for high-speed motors that have to produce an immense torque for a very short time.
Due to its sturdiness and its economical manufactur-ing costs, the VP50-11P-025 can also be a good idea in entirely different applications.
The controller PCB can communicate with higher-lev-el controllers via an SPI interface.

VP50-11P-055The VP50-11P-055 is used when a reliably high power is required with a low space requirements and high efficiency. Due to the nominal voltage of 48 V, the VP50-11P-055 is designed for applications in safety extra-low voltages. Temperatures between - 40 and +85 degrees are no problem for the VP50-11P-055.
Applications e.g. in servo-hydraulic pumps with a pressure build-up in a few milliseconds for a perfect servo function without control valves and with consid-erably improved overall efficiency.

There were three objectives in developing the VP5000:

The housing of the VP5000 allows customer-spe-cific functions and modules to be easily integrated
in a single device. As a result of the special circuits and suitable software architecture, functions with reduced hardware expense can be realized, such as e.g. the alternative use of the VECTOPOWER as a traction drive or for loading a vehicle.
Last but not least, the cabling expense is reduced, since the power stages are connected with each other internally. The main components of the VP5000 are controller PCBs and power stages of the VP600 line. In the customer-specific area of the housing, smaller inverters e.g. for air conditioning units, servo control or DC/DC converters for on-board supply can be accommodated as well as the components required for the connections

Optimized for international use
Customers in the passenger transport field in par-ticular demand fast solutions for servicing. Since trained personnel are often not directly on site, great importance is placed on efficient diagnostics and fast installation and removal of components. The integration of the entire power electronics of the VP5000 in a housing makes fast replacement easy. This is especially because there are fewer external cables to take into account.
The products of the VP5000 series have a wide range of applications. The special design makes it possible to integrate customer-specific PLCs or components in the upper part of the housing. This makes it possible to offer end customers a complete solution in a single housing.Depending on the application, the different applica-tion possibilities of the VECTOPOWER can be con-nected with each other via additional hardware so that e.g. only one inverter is needed for the charger and the traction drive.

Development ToolsThe inverters of the VECTOPOWER series already have numerous software functions in the basic version. These can be called up via CAN bus from a higher-level master or drive control.
For more complex applications, special software functions are often required in the inverter. VECTOPOWER therefore offers various options that are oriented to the requirements.Our development environments VECTOSTUDIO (for higher-level controls) and VECTONUM EMBEDDED (for integrated microprocessors) are comprehensive development systems for software functions whose handling only differs in the type of target processor, except for a few differences.Programming can be done under IEC 61131-3, in C++ and various script languages.
Important tools for parameterization and diagnosis, such as e.g. the ANALYSER, are integrated in the development tools. The ANALYSER makes it much easier to optimize the drives, since the course of all variables can be visualized.

Training
Having our experts train your experts often saves time and nerves, especially with more complex applications. You decide whether you would like standard training for hardware and/or software or training directly at the installation.
Service
We are also there for you after the completion of the project, e.g. for revision of our products after the warranty has expired, for optimizing/adapting installations and for troubleshooting in the case of tricky relationships.
Customized developments
Mobile electrical installations are a growth area. Correspondingly, more and more new applications x are developed with new tasks. Let us know if you are planning something very special! The modularity of the VECTOPOWER components and the uniform system software allow us to generate customized products at relatively low expense.

Our VECTOPOWER ist tough and rugged
Our customers can rely on the VECTOPOWER even under the toughest conditions. Regardless of whether you have cooling water temperatures up to 75 °C*, water jets and dust (IP65), or the roughest vibration and shock loads up to 50 g: The VEC-TOPOWER can withstand them. This has been tested by the German TÜV authority, among others, according to the require-ments of the railway, ship and "heavy duty vehicles" areas.
