St. Cloud State University through this independent tour. Please

feel free to visit the Office of Admissions if you have any questions

or if you would like additional information. We hope you enjoy your

campus visit!

1. Administrative Services BuildingThe Administrative Services Building is home to student services such as Admissions, Records and Registration, Financial Aid, Veterans Resources, Business Services and the university cashier. The building also houses many administrative functions, including the Office of the President and Academic Affairs.

Upon leaving the Administrative Services Building, we suggest going south. You’ll be heading towards our athletic complex and the Mississippi River...

2. Barden ParkBarden Park is the oldest community park in St. Cloud, Barden Park provides students with a place to play and relax. The park also hosts summer concerts and events.

3. Lewis HouseLewis House offices University Advancement, which oversees the St. Cloud State University Foundation and Alumni Relations. Alumni Relations serves more than 100,000 graduates worldwide. The Foundation is the university’s fundraising arm.

4. Education Building The Education Building is home to an array of departments, programs, offices, centers and classrooms that support teacher education, education administration, counselor education, multicultural education and more.

5. Richard Green HouseThe Richard Green House is home to Athletes for Success in the Classroom, which provides academic support for student-athletes competing in NCAA sports.

6. American Indian Center The American Indian Center is the cultural and academic support center for students and faculty.

7. Engineering and Computing Center The Engineering and Computing Center has classrooms, laboratories and facilities for computer science, engineering, mathematics and statistics programs.

8. Lindgren Child Care CenterLindgren Child Care Center provides daycare to children of university students and employees. It is also an early childhood learning laboratory for the campus and community.

9. Shoemaker HallShoemaker Hall is a 500-student residence hall that overlooks the Mississippi River. It is one of 8 residence halls on campus.

Next you’ll cross the footbridge over University Avenue. Across the footbridge is our athletic complex. That includes:

Halenbeck Hall Halenbeck Hall provides health, physical education and recreation opportunities with a main gym seating 7,500, a swimming pool, diving pool, two small gyms, a 200-meter track, racquetball courts, wrestling room, weight room and dance studio. Halenbeck also hosts university and community sporting events.

11. Recreation Center The Student Recreation Center houses a fitness center, which includes weight-training machines, treadmills, exercise bikes and free weights. The facility also has a three-story climbing wall, two large dance/aerobic studios, office space and classrooms.

12. Husky StadiumHusky Stadium is the home field for NCAA soccer and softball, as well as club and intramural teams. During the winter it is covered with a dome. The stadium also serves community teams from across the region.

13. Herb Brooks National Hockey CenterHerb Brooks National Hockey Center houses the NCAA Division I men’s and women’s hockey programs. The two-sheet ice arena also serves community hockey and figure skating programs. With the ice removed, the facility can be used for concerts, graduation ceremonies and other large events.

Now we suggest you head back north, crossing back over the footbridge and past the Engineering and Computing Center that you visited previously...

14. ISELF (Integrated Science and Engineering Laboratory Facility) The ISELF Building provides classrooms and labs for science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medical technology and radiology programs. Research in ISELF will support Minnesota companies that are global leaders in medical devices, pharma/biologics, animal science, bio-agriculture and renewable energy.

15. Headley Hall Headley Hall houses shops, laboratories, classrooms and offices for the Computer Network Research Center and the Department of Environmental and Technological Studies.

Now you’ll head East along 8th Street...

16. Brown Hall Brown Hall has an array of classrooms, laboratories and offices serving multiple academic disciplines and administrative services. Among its tenants are the Department of Nursing Science, the Center for Continuing Studies and Printing Services.

17. Robert H. Wick Science BuildingThe Robert H. Wick Science Building houses classrooms, laboratories and offices that serve academic disciplines such as biology, chemistry, nuclear medicine technology and physics. Also housed here are the graduate programs in regulatory affairs and services and applied clinical research. Unique facilities include a planetarium and greenhouse.

If you look to the south you will notice two of our oldest buildings...

18. Eastman HallThe Center for Health and Wellness Innovation at Eastman Hall provides services to students, faculty and staff of St. Cloud State University. It is also an academic learning facility where students learn to unleash caring.

19. Riverview HallRiverview Hall is home to the Department of Communication Studies and the Riverview Computer Lab, one of 24 general-access computer labs on campus.

If you continue north, across from Stewart Hall you will find yourself in a central mall area. It is not unusual to find students enjoying outdoor studying, eating and entertainment during mild weather...

20. Stewart Hall Stewart Hall has classrooms, offices, student media facilities, a TV studio, radio station and the Kimberly Ritsche Auditorium. A range of academic departments and programs housed here includes Economics, History, Mass Communications, Social Work and Women’s Studies.

21. Cora Webster HallCora Webster Hall houses classrooms and offices for the departments of English, Ethnic Studies and Political Science. Student services include The Write Center, a writing assistance center, and the Intensive English Center, which serves students for whom English is not a primary language.

22. Centennial HallCentennial Hall is home to the Herberger Business School and the SCSU Bookstore. Also housed in the five-floor building are student services such as the Advising Center, Career Services Center, Student Disability Services, Honors Program and the Multicultural Academic Support Center. Centennial also has smart classrooms, meeting rooms and conference rooms.

23. Atwood Memorial Center Atwood Memorial Center is the student union and a focal point of campus life. It has dining and recreation facilities, an art gallery, theater, offices, computer labs, retail space and 24 meeting rooms. Among the many office tenants are Student Life and Development, Multicultural Student Services, Student Government, LGBT Resource Center and Campus Involvement.

To the east of Atwood you’ll find...

24. Lawrence Hall Lawrence Hall is a 100-student residence hall that typically pairs international and domestic students. Lawrence also houses the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature and the Center for International Studies (CIS). CIS serves international students and visiting scholars and manages education abroad programs.

25. Kiehle Visual Arts CenterKiehle Visual Arts Center provides classrooms and studio space for the Art Department. The building also houses two art galleries and administrative staff for the College of Liberal Arts and the School of the Arts.

26. Whitney House Whitney House is a former residence now used for the College of Social Sciences and Psychology department offices. This building was a gift to the university from the heirs of A.G. Whitney in 1956.

Now head west and we’ll visit the primary residential area of campus...

27. Garvey CommonsGarvey Commons is the primary student dining facility. It is managed for the university by Chartwells, a multinational food services company.

28. Residence Halls Seven of the university’s 8 residence halls are clustered at the north end of campus: Benton, Mitchell, Sherburne, Stearns, Stateview and Case–Hill.

You are welcome to visit the lobbies. University Health Services is located in Case–Hill Hall 29. Performing Arts Center The Performing Arts Center hosts the university’s musical and theatrical performances in the 450-seat Center Stage, the 100-seat Arena Stage and 300-seat Ruth Gant Recital Hall. Among the 14 performing groups are the Concert Choir, Jazz Ensemble and the Wind Ensemble. Also housed here are the Music Department and the Department of Theatre and Film Studies.

It should come as no surprise that we are taking you in a complete circle. Head towards the large parking structure. To your left you’ll see...

30. 4th Avenue Parking RampThe 4th Avenue Parking Ramp is a 500-stall facility with dollar-an-hour parking. Housed on the lower level is the Public Safety Department, which serves the university’s campus security needs. The Parking Office, which manages parking facilities and permits, is also located in the ramp.

31. Women’s Center The Women’s Center offers advocacy and support services, a specialized resource library, information and referral, a sexual assault prevention program, and educational programming that examines issues related to gender, sexism and feminism.

32. James W. Miller Learning Resources CenterThe Miller Center is the university’s library and information technology nerve center. The building includes hundreds of computers, a high-tech auditorium, seven electronic classrooms, sixteen student study rooms and a coffee shop.

To the northwest you’ll find...

33. Welcome CenterLocated in Coborn Plaza, the Welcome Center is the university’s front door, its link to St. Cloud and beyond. It offers professional development training, meeting rooms for campus-community engagement, a university logowear store, tickets for university events and a way-finding system for locating buildings, programs and people.
