T his is a story of bravery, courage and friendship. This story is based on a classical book named "The odyssey", written by Homer, but it is not the same story... "Ulises was a very strong and prudent Greek King who participated in the Troy War with other Greek Kings. He was the King of Ithaca, an island in the west of Greece. After Troy War, Ulises began a trip by boat to his home in Ithaca, where his wife, Helena and his son, Telémaco, were waiting for him. When Ulises and his warriors were travelling through the sea, the current carried them towards the coast of a little island and it broke his boat. In the island, they found rocks, high and big trees and very dark caverns. The island, in other times, was a kingdom until that Minotaur, sent by Poseidon, came and killed his king. The inhabitants of the island were terrified bythe Minotaur. Poseidon, king of the sea and principal enemy of Ulises, was the father of Minotaur. The Minotaur was a creature with half human body and half beast body. People asked Ulises for help to fight against the Minotaur and in compensation, the village would help him to continue with his travel. Poseidon ordered the Minotaur to attack Ulises and his men, and a terrible fight began. The beast threw rocks and trees against the men and even took two of them and ate them. As the Minotaur couldn´t kill Ulises, the anger of Poseidon became even more dangerous and he sent lightings and storms over the island too. The Minotaur called other malefic creatures like Orcus to fight against Ulises. Ulises fought with his best sword, which had been created by goddesses of Olimpus. It is said that it was an epic battle between Ulises, his men and the Minotaur. The warriors fought with bravery, courage and next to each other. Finally, Ulises and his warriors won. When they killed the Minotaur, Orcus escaped. The peace came again on the island and Ulises and his men were helped by the inhabitants to continue his travel to Itaca”.

This story teaches us that friendship and bravery are enough to defeat any beast.
