• The task force is ending on Mar 31, 2013.• At this point, the options to move forward with a sustainable

alliance like the Lowcountry STEM collaborative:

1. Create an independent entity, perhaps 501C3, with a board of directors and a full-time executive director.

Comment: This would take significant investment in time and money to start

2. Contract out the management of such alliance to an existing 501c3 (such as the SC Coalition of Math and Science), which would hire a full-time executive director.

Comment: This would allow a running start

3. Industrial Partnership with an Industrial Partnership

Looking Ahead to 2013

For both options each partner would need to:Identify representatives (in-kind resources)

Executive level – Board of Directors/SteeringOperational level – liaison with alliance

Financial contribution (from Industry partners)say, ~$15k yr. for 3 years, for exec. dir salary

Middle School Dream Connectors, etc.) Consider Train the Trainer Programs to be sponsored by the new Upstate STEM Alliance
