This product is produced to order and will vary from batch-to-batch — panels ordered at the same time will be produced together and will be identical. USG cannot guarantee batch-to-batch consistency.

Code approvalTranslucents panels meet Class B requirements for flame spread and smoke developed as defined by ASTM 1264 and as tested in accordance with ASTM E84. (40/175) USG Translucents panels also meet Class A requirements of NFPA and IBC (UBC) as interior finishes, not to be part of an air supply/return system. Designers and installers are advised to consult a fire protection engineer, NFPA 13 and their local codes for guidance where automatic fire detection and suppression systems are present.

Seismic applicationsFor installations on projects designated seismic design category C-F, suspension wires that are a minimum of no. 12 gauge galvanized, soft-annealed, mild steel wire shall be used. Please refer to SC2494 for more information about the seismic guidelines for specialty and decorative ceilings. Because codes continue to evolve, check with a local official prior to designing and installing a ceiling system. Other restrictions and exemptions may apply.
