This will get you into the proper area of the website. This quick tutorial will now show you how to:

A) Make a Lesson Plan

B) Make a Rubric

C) Use the Lesson Plan Archive

For making a Lesson Plan, click on the Lesson Builder link.

This page allows you to set up your lesson plan. Under the New Lesson Title tab, enter the name

of your lesson. Under the Choose a Format tab, pick either Essential Elements of Instruction

(traditional lesson plan format) or Inquiry Based Lesson Plan.

Now it is time for you to make your Lesson Plan. The image below is an example using the EEI

type of lesson plan. Clicking the grey boxes will allow you to fill out your lesson plan. The site

even includes all the state standards so you do not have to go to another website to find them.

Once you are finished with your lesson plan and want to submit it to your instructor, click on the

Request Feedback button and find your instructor on the list.

For making a Rubric, click on the Rubric Builder link.

From here, you have two options. You can make your own rubric by adding your title and picking a

number of columns. If you want to adapt a rubric for your subject area, you can pick one from the list.

The system will allow you to modify the rubric in case there are aspects you do not like. The first example

shows what you will see if you decide to make your own rubric from scratch. The second example shows

what you will see if you pick the Adapt a Rubric option (the example is for the Science Experiment

Rubric).

There is also an Archive of Lesson Plans available for you to see. Some assignments may involve

looking through these Lesson Plans. To get to the archive, click the Resources link from the main page.

Once on the Resources page, click the Cybrary link:

From this page, you will need to enter a few things. First, you need to pick the Browse resources

shared by other TaskStream users button. Then you will need to enter your keyword into the Search

box. Under the Show tab, click Lesson Plans. During your searches for this course, you will want to also

click the Only return items created by Rio Salado College subscribers button. This will limit the number

of responses for your search to Rio students only.

If you type in Chemistry, a list, like the one shown below, pops up. You can view the lesson plans and

even adapt your own lesson plan from their work.
