You are a member of a local Ramblers Association group.This year, your group has decided to walk the course of the River Usk, from Brecon to Caerleon.You have been asked to provide information showing major natural and man-made features along the banks of the river

FOR EACH TASK:- Read the information identify key words and phrases, and any pictures, which you would like to use in your information . Also refer to the map you have been provided with to consider the progression and development of the River Usk as it meanders through the landscape. Try to include appropriate geographical vocabulary.
FOR EACH TASK:- Remember the audience the ramblers who enjoy walking. Consider also that during their walk downstream, they might see a variety of natural and manmade aspects of the landscape and you should include mention of some of these contrasting features, where possible.

By the end of this task, you will have gathered and presented information which will persuade members of your group to join this year's ramble.You will need to select and present your findings in an interesting way.

Task OneTask One
The Ramble will take a number of days and you need to decide how far they will walk each day.
Describe the natural and man-made features they will see on each stretch of the walk.
At each stop-over point find a place for the group to stay.
Once the group have stopped walking for the day they like to visit a place of historical interest nearby provide them with some information on such places.

Task TwoTask Two
The River Usk passes through some beautiful countryside
and sometimes it is good to view it from above.
Give the ramblers information on some of the mountains they can climb along the way.
Climbing mountains can be dangerous, provide the ramblers with safety information on hill walking.

Task ThreeTask Three
The Usk Valley is an important area for nature conservation give the ramblers some information about some of the wildlife they might be lucky enough to see. Remember to include birds, mammals and fish.

Task FourTask Four
The Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal also runs from Brecon to Newport the River Usk does the same.
Outline the things that are the same and the things that are different about the two.
Remember to cover as many aspects as you can including some aspects you have covered in the other tasks.
