Read this manual completely andunderstand the machine beforeoperating or servicing it.

This machine is intended forcommercial use only. It is designedexclusively to pick up dirt, dry debrisand dust in an indoor environment andis not constructed for any other use.The pick up of any type of fluid ordangerous/toxic materials is prohibited.Use only recommended accessories.

When ordering replacement parts usethe Parts Lists section in this manual.Before ordering parts or supplies, besure to have your machine modelnumber and serial number handy. Partsand supplies may be ordered by phoneor mail from any Authorized ServiceCenter or Distributor.

THERMAL VACUUM MOTORPROTECTOR

The vacuum motor is equipped with asafety thermal protector. Should thevacuum become overloaded byvacuuming with the bag full, orvacuuming with very dirty filters, or if thevacuum should have a clog, the thermalprotector will protect the motor fromoverheating by shutting the motor downautomatically. To reset the thermalprotector, switch off the vacuum,disconnect the plug and check the bag,check the filters and also check for signsof clogging (see page 12). Allow up to40 minutes for motor to cool.

Technical improvements

The manufacturer reserves the right tomake technical improvements andmodifications without prior notice. Forthis reason, the appliance can deviate indetails from the manual information.

IMPORTANT:

Le moteur aspirant est pourvu d’unsystème thermique de sécurité. En casde: surcharge (aspirer les tapis à poilhaut avec une régulation trop basse),aspirer quand le sac est plein, aspireravec le microfiltre/Hepa filtre trop sales,le thermo--protecteur intervient pourprotéger le moteur d’une excessivesurchauffe. Pour réarmer le bouclierthermique, débrancher la machine etdébrancher la prise de courant etcontrôler: le sac à poussière, lemicrofiltre/le filtre Hepa et lesobstructions éventuelles (page 12).Attendre jusqu’à 40 minutes pour que lemoteur se refroidisse.

PROTECTOR TERMO/AMPERIMÉTRICO DEL MOTORASPIRADOR

El motor aspirador tiene un protectortérmico de seguridad. En caso desobrecargo (aspirar alfombras de peloalto con regulación demasiado baja),trabajar con bolsa llena, trabajar conmicrofiltro /Hepa filtro excesivamentesucios, el protector térmico puedeintervenir para proteger el motor deexcesivo sobrecalentamiento. Sinecesita reposicionar el termoprotector,desenchufar y controlar: la bolsa, elmicrofiltro/ Hepa filtro y eventualesobstrucciones (pág.12). Deje que elmotor se enfríe durante un máximo de40 minutos.

ASSEMBLYINSTRUCTIONS

Insert the chrome handle intothe hole in the top of theswitch housing. Push downuntil the button snaps into theproper position.

Attach cord to strain relief clip.

Wind the electrical cordaround the upper and lowercord hooks on the front of themachine.

To release the cord, turn thelower cord hook.

OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS

Switch on the machine bypushing the power switch.

MONTAGE

BRUSH HEIGHTADJUSTMENT

Your carpet cleaner has 4wheels, two rear wheels andtwo adjustable front wheels.Based on your carpet pile, usethe adjusting knob (seephoto), to lift or lower the base.

STEP 1:With machine on andhandle in normal operatingposition, slowly rotate brushadjustment knob clockwiseuntil red light turns on.

STEP 2: Turn brushadjustment knob slowlycounterclockwise until red lightturns off.

NOTE: If the red light goes onand off intermittently whilevacuuming, this is correct. Ifthe red light stays on all thetime, turn the knob as STEP 2.

In case of area rugs withfringed ends the machinemust be used from the centerto the outside. For the bestresult on wall to wall carpetfollow the natural weave of thecarpet to obtain a consistentsurface appearance.

If the brush roll should stop(due to running oversomething large, such asfringes or rug) the electronicoverload control will protectthe motor and belts fromdamage, switching off themotor and leaving the red lighton.

Switch off the machine andunplug, inspect the brushroller for debris.

Once the brush roller is free torun, you can switch on themachine and start operatingagain.

On board attachments areprovided for above the floorvacuuming requirements. Liftthe wand first “1” then pull itout past the wand clip on theright “2”.

REGLAGE DE LA HAUTEURDE LA BROSSE

Votre aspiro--batteur estpourvu de 4 roues, 2postérieures et 2 antérieurse,elles peuvent être réglées enhauteur. Selon la hauteur dupoil de vos tapis oumoquettes, lever ou baisser labase par la poignée deréglage (voir photo).

PAS 1: Mettre l’appareil enmarche et la poignée enposition normale de travail,tourner doucement lerégulateur en sens horaire,jusqu’à ce que le voyant rouges’allume.

PAS 2: Tourner le régulateuren sens anti--horaire, jusqu’àce que le voyant rouges’éteigne.

REMARQUE: Si le voyantrouge clignotte pendant quel’appareil est en marche leréglage est correct, si parcontre il reste toujours allumé,il faut régler d’après le pasno.2.

Sur les tapis avec franges, ilfaut passer l’aspiro--batteurde l’intérieur vers l’extérieur.Sur les tapis de teinte unie ousur les tapis à poils haut, il estconseiller de suivre le sens dupoil pour obtenir une surfacehomogène et lisse.

En cas du blocage de labrosse (à cause de tissus oufranges) le contrôleélectronique protège le moteuret les courroies contre toutrisques, éteingnant le moteuret laissant allumé le voyantrouge.

Eteindre l’appareil,débrancher la prise decourant et ensuite, contrôlerle rouleau et éliminer toutdébris.

Quand le rouleau tournrlibrement, l’on peut réallumerla machine et commencer àtravailler.

Votre aspiro--batteur est aussiun aspirateur pour lenettoyage de tout type desurface. Extraire le tube « 1 »et ensuite le décrocher decôté « 2 ».

REGULACIÓN DE LAALTURA DEL CEPILLO

Su aspiradora batidora tiene 4ruedas, dos posteriores y dosanteriores, cuya altura sepuede regular. Según la alturadel pelo de su alfombralevante o baje la base pormedio de la manopla (véansefoto).

PASO 1: Con la máquinaencendida y el mango enposición normal de trabajo,lentamente gire la ruedecillaen el sentido de las agujas delreloj hasta que la luz roja seencienda.

PASO 2: Gire la ruedecillalentamente en sentidocontrario a las agujas del reloj,hasta que la luz roja seapague.

NOTA: Si la luz roja seenciende y apagaintermitentemente mientrasaspiramos, es correcto. Si laluz roja permanece todo eltiempo encendida, gire laruedecilla como le indicamosen el paso 2.

Con alfombras con franjas seproceda del interno hacia elexterno.Con una alfombra lisaó cuyos tejidos tienen unatendencia a formar líneas, esaconsejable seguir ladirección del material paraconseguir un aspectoconsistente en la superficie.

En caso de bloqueo delrodillo (tejidos, franjas) elcontrol electrónico protege elmotor y las correas contratodos riesgos, apaga el motordejando encendida la luz roja.

Apague en seguida lamáquina, desenchufe yluego controle el rodillo paraeliminar las causas delbloqueo.

Cuando el rodillo giralibremente, se puede volver atrabajar.

Su aspiradora puedetransformarse también enescoba eléctrica con losaccesorios útiles disponibles.Extraer el tubo “1” y sacarlodel lado “2”.

CHANGING THE PAPERFILTER BAG

Gently push the latch on theback of the bag housing andremove the bag cover.Remove the full dust bag bycarefully removing thecardboard from the safetylatch and slide it down. Sealthe used paper bag using thecardboard tab to cover theopening. Install a new paperbag by sliding the openingover the tube. Hook the top leftside cardboard to the safetylatch (directions for installing anew bag are also printed onthe bags themselves).Replace the paper bag whenthe red full bag light is on, or ifyou notice the performance ofthe machine decline.

Never operate the machinewithout a paper bag.

CLOGGING

In case of clog (which couldbe the problem if your bag fulllight is on even if your bag isnot full) check the followinglocations: remove the bag andcheck the internal tube, lookthrough the stretch hose,check the telescopic wandand throat tube that holds thewand, look over the wholebrush roll area. Remove anydebris that may be obstructingthese areas and causing theclog.

VACUUM INLET FILTER

This filter protects the vacuummotor from damage due tospilled paper bags. It providesfor the 3rd stage of filtration.Clean the filter every thirdtime that the paper bag ischanged. Remove filter fromgrill and wash out in warmwater.

Let the filter dry“completely” before puttingback into the machine.Never operate the machinewithout the inlet filter.

CHANGEMENT DU SACA POUSSIERE

Appuyer le bouton placé sur lapartie postérieur du boîtier dusac et enlever le couvercle.Enlever le sac plein en tirantsur le carton de sureté.Fermer le trou du sac à l’aidedu carton de fermeture.Mettre en place un autre sacneuf en l’enfilant dans le tubeet accrocher le carton aucrochet de sûreté.(Lesinstructions pour l’installationd’un nouveau sac sontimprimées sur le sac aussi).

Changer le sac chaque foisque le voyant rouge s’allumeou bien quand il y a uneréduction des performancesde la machine.

Ne jamais utiliser la machinesans un sac mis en place.

OBSTRUCTION

En cas d’obstruction de lamachine, c’est facile contrôlertout le circuit d’aspiration:enlever le sac papier etcontrôler que la rallongeextensible, la rallongeteléscopique et la base de labrosse soient libres Vérifieraussi la zone du rouleau,enlever tout débris qui puisseavoir bloquer la machine.

FILTRE INTERIEUR

Contrôler que le filtre à air nesoit pas saturé de saleté; lenettoyer si c’est nécessaire. Ilest indiqué de nettoyer lefiltre à air à chaque 3echangement du sac àpoussière: enlever le filtreavec son support; et laver lapartie de mousse synthétiqueavec une solution détergente,la laisser sécher et laremettre dans le support;remplacer le filtre dans sonlogement au fond duboîtier.Ne jamais utiliser lamachine sans un filtreoriginal.

SUSTITUCION DE LABOLSA DE PAPEL

Pulsar el botón puesto en laparte posterior delcompartimiento de la bolsa ysacar la tapa. Quitar la bolsallena de polvo por medio delcartón de seguridad. Cerrar elagujero de la bolsa por mediodel cartón.

Inserte una nueva bolsa en eltubo y enganchar el cartón algancho de seguridad. (Lasinstrucciones están tambiénimpresas en la bolsa).

Cambiar la bolsa cada vezque se enciende la luz roja ocuando hay una reducción delrendimiento de la máquina.

Nunca debe de utilizar elmáquina sin un bolso defiltro.

OBSTRUCCIONES

En caso de obstrucciones esfacil controlar el circuito deaspiración: quitar la bolsa ycontrolar que el tubo internoesté libre , luego el tuboflexible, el rígido y la base dela zona rodillo al tuboextensible.Quitar todos los residuos quehan causado el bloqueo.

FILTRO INTERIOR

Este filtro protege el motor delos daños casuales quepudiera provocar la rotura dela bolsa de papel, y es la 3ªfase de filtración. Cada trescambios de bolsa se debelimpiar este filtro. Quitar elfiltro de la rejilla y lavarlo enagua templada. Secar el filtrocompletamente antes deponerlo de nuevo en lamáquina. Nunca use lamáquina sin este filtrooriginal.



HEPA FILTER (Optional)

This special filter assures99.97% filtration efficiency at0.3 micron for the ultimate inair filtration in the most criticalapplications. It can be placedunder the dust bag instead ofthe motor protection filter.

Change the Hepa filter every 8bags or more often if it is in avery dusty environment. If thepaper bag should break, theHepa filter must also bereplaced.

CHANGING THEEXHAUST FILTER

The electrostatic exhaust filtercatches any particles that mayescape from the filter bag,vacuum inlet filter, or lowermotor filter. The electrostaticexhaust filter is located underthe external front grill.Replace the filter every fourthtime you change the bag.To replace the electrostaticfilter release the external grilland replace the exhaust filterwith a new one.

Never operate the vacuumwithout the Exhaust Filter inplace.

CHANGING THE BRUSHROLLER

1. Lay the machine over ontoits left side.

2. Slide the side cover off theend of the brush (reuse onnew brush).

3. Grasp the center of thebrush by bristles and pull itup and out the right side ofthe housing. Remove thebrush support, it will bereused.

HEPA FILTER (Optionel)

2. Faire coulisser le couverclelatéral hors du boîtier de labrosse.

3. Extraire délicatement lesupport du rouleau del’extrémité de la brosse(réutiliser sur une brosseneuve).

1. Poner la máquina a yacersobre el lado izquierdo.1.

2. Quitar la porta lateral delhueco del cepillo.

3. Sacar el soporte del rodillode la extremidad del cepillo(el soporte será reutilizadopara el cepillo nuevo).



4. Look inside the brush rollfor the end that has ahexagon shape cut out.This is also the end that willhave a white dot on theoutside of the brush roll.Put this end in first. Line upthe white dot with a flatportion of the drive.

5. Make sure the brush rollgoes all the way down overthe drive. Look to see thatnone of the brush bristlesare caught between themetal support and thebrush (the metal supportwill not fit properly if thereare any brush bristlessticking up and out of theend, it will also damage thebristles of your brush roll).

6. Reassemble the metalbrush support and then theside cover.

4. Introduire d’abordl’extremité de la brosseavec l’ouverturehexagonale dans le boîtier,le point référence (photo)consiste à faire coinciderun côté plein du dispositifde traction avec le pointblanc de rouleau, envérifiant qu’elle soit bienenfoncée jusqu’au bout dusupport de transmission.

5. Faire attention à ce que lerouleau soit bien en placeet que les poils latérauxsoient à l’intérieur dusupport en métal. (lesupport en métal n’entrerapas correttamentte si lespoils sont sont pas bien enplace et en outre, ilabimera votre rouleau).

6. Remplacer le support de labrosse et insérer lecouvercle latéral.

4. Introducir antes en su lugarla extremidad del cepillocon la abertura hexagonal,haciendo encajar una carallana del dispositivo detracción con el puntoblanco sobre el cepillo (foto), asegurándose de que seinserte completamente enel soporte.

5. Asegúrese de que el rodilloesté bien instalado en sulugar y que las cerdaslaterales esténinternamente al soportemetálico.(el soportemetálico no entrarácorrectamente si la cerdasno están bien puestas yademás irán a estropearlas cerdas del rodillo).

NEW MACHINE WARRANTYTennant Company warrants to the original purchaser, for the above--stated periods (whichever occurs first), thatmachines will be free fromdefects in workmanship andmaterial, provided thatmachines are installed, operated, andmaintained in accordancewith TennantCompa-ny’s written manuals or other instructions.

This warranty does not apply to damage or failure caused by accident, freight damage, misuse, negligence, abuse, improper repair, ormaintenance of the machines. Please refer to Operator Manual for proper machine operation and maintenance instructions.

The warranty period begins on the installation date at the end--user site. AMachine Installation/Warranty Report form included with Opera-tor’s Manual must be completed and returned immediately at the time of purchase. If proof of purchase is unavailable, the warranty beginsninety (90) days after original sale to an Authorized Tennant dealer.Demonstrator machines purchased from Tennant Company carry the same warranty as a new machine.

LABOR AND TRAVEL WARRANTYTennant Company will, at its option, provide labor and travel or pay for outside repair for the above--stated periods.

PARTS WARRANTYParts replaced or repaired under this warranty are guaranteed for the remainder of the warranty period. The parts warranty on batteriesis pro--rated for one (1) year from the Tennant Company shipping date. Consumable parts, expected to wear from normal use, are not cov-ered under the parts warranty. These consumable parts include, but are not limited to: belts, drive chains, brushes, pad drivers, filters,squeegees, tires [pro--rated for one (1) year on rider machines], skirts, hand grips, battery cables, power cords, cord restraints, externalhoses, vacuum bags, fuses and carbon brushes. Battery chargers and accessories are warranted for one (1) year.

REPAIR PARTS WARRANTYAfter the warranty period expires, repair parts supplied by Tennant Company are warranted against defects for the period of ninety (90)days. The repair parts warranty only covers parts, not labor or travel.

SERVICE LABOR WARRANTYLabor and travel performed by a Tennant Company service representative are warranted for thirty (30) days from the date the repairs arecompleted. This policy does not coverwork performed by any service company other than TennantCompany, and is restricted to the specif-ic repair operation or component for which a claim is made.

DISCLAIMERTENNANTCOMPANY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALLOTHERWARRANTIES EXPRESSOR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITEDTO,ANY IMPLIEDWARRANTYOFMERCHANTABILITYAND FITNESSFOR APARTICULAR PURPOSE. TENNANT SHALLNOTBELIABLE FOR INCI-DENTALOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES,WHETHER DIRECTOR INDIRECT, INCLUDING, BUTNOT LIMITEDTO, BUYER’S LOSSOFMATERIALOR PROFITS, INCREASED EXPENSE OF OPERATION, BODILY INJURY, LOSS OF USE OF PROPERTY OR DOWNTIME.

Tennant Company reserves the right to change its warranty policy without notice.
