We are seeking an experienced nurse who will embrace the challenge of this dynamic and exciting role. You will be an expert clinical practitioner responsible for providing advanced clinical assessment of the surgical patient; enhancing care and improving patient flow in conjunction with national standards.

You will work as part of a team of two Advanced Nurse Practitioners and be responsible for performing clinical assessment of deteriorating patients and apply clinical expertise to diagnose and initiate appropriate investigations and treatment. You will work collaboratively with the designated ward teams as well as the on-call team as well as others to deliver safe, effective, person centred care.

You will work across professional and organisational boundaries in partnership with others including acute and primary care nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals and senior management teams. You should possess the leadership skills to prioritise demanding workloads and be responsive in a challenging clinical environment.You should be able to demonstrate an ongoing and self-motivated commitment to continued professional development.

You must possess an Advanced Clinical Examination qualification and preferably the Non Medical Prescribing course – or evidence of working towards this.

You must be in possession of a minimum of a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Practice. Possession of a Masters qualification or a willingness to work towards is desirable; however, the ability to demonstrate Masters level thinking is essential. You will be required to rotate into the surgical admissions ward as required to meet the demands of the service.

An exciting and challenging secondment opportunity has arisen at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for two registered nurses who are keen to enhance and develop their senior management skills and leadership qualities to support the Senior Charge Nurse within ward 15.

The post holder will be expected to support the SCN to deliver safe and effective care that enhances the patient experience and contributes to the delivery of the organisation's objectives. The post holder must have significant post registration experience within an acute clinical setting.

Ward 15 is a very busy ward and you are required to work well under pressure and remain calm. You will be required to take charge of the ward in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse carrying out clinical, leadership and management duties. The Charge Nurse needs to be clinically experienced but also have the knowledge and ability to support the SCN in the management of the ward including staff management. The candidate should have a commitment to acute medicine of the elderly, patient centred care and supporting effective team working. They must demonstrate understanding of the complexities of caring for frail individuals with acute and chronic episodes of delirium whilst planning care and treatment for acute medical conditions.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Primary Care Nurse within Fife Health and Social Care West Division who has specialist knowledge in Asthma and COPD management for both adult and paediatric patients. The post provides a respiratory service to patients registered with 6 GP Practices in the Lochgelly, Benarty and Cardenden locality.

You will be responsible for the facilitation and delivery of evidence based care to this patient group, in partnership with the GP Practices. Care will be offered in both clinic and home settings within this area of Fife.

It would be expected that you will have relevant experience in this specialty and enhanced qualifications to support their application. In addition you shall have excellent communication skills as well as excellent time management skills. Further to this it is a requirement that you must have a valid NMC registration.

Community experience is not essential as an induction to the area will be given. Non-medical prescribing is desirable but not essential to the post.

Travel within the area is essential.

NHS FIFE OPERATIONAL DIVISION LOCUM CONSULTANTS IN GENERAL AND UPPER GI SURGERY (2 POSTS)12 MONTHS IN THE FIRST INSTANCEREF NO: HH815/02/18 An opportunity has arisen for 2 Locum Consultants in General & Upper GI Surgery to work within a team of 12 Consultant Surgeons in NHS Fife. These posts are replacement posts in the Upper GI team and experience in General, Laparoscopic and Benign Upper GI Surgery would be especially welcomed. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team and will play a full part in emergency receiving. As a Consultant in this department you will have strong general surgery skills and most special interests in benign Upper GI can be considered. The Upper GI unit is being strengthened, with one of the 2 posts being a replacement and the 2nd being an additional post. You will be based at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, where inpatient surgical wards and theatres are located in a new facility that opened early in 2012. There is a 1:12 on call commitment for General Surgery with a busy dedicated emergency admissions unit. Vascular and Breast surgery are separately covered by a regional on call service. All inpatient activity occurs at the Victoria Hospital, whilst Endoscopy, Day Surgery and Outpatient Clinics also take place in Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline, the Adamson Hospital in Cupar, and St Andrews Community Hospital. The general surgical teams perform a wide range of laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures and have excellent support from interventional radiology and gastroenterology teams. Collaborative network arrangements are in place with neighbouring health boards for complex UGI surgery and bariatric surgery, presenting opportunities for you to contribute. You will be on the Specialist Register of the GMC or be eligible for inclusion on the Register within six months of the time of interview. Applications from individuals who may wish to work on a part time or job share basis will be considered.

We offer the opportunity for whole time Consultant to join our team of dedicated Consultant staff based at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy and Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. The post is primarily a general ENT job but subspecialty interests would be encouraged.

The Victoria Hospital has 290 beds and provides a wide range of surgical and medical services with excellent clinical support services. The newly refurbished ENT inpatient facility has 10 beds located alongside a purpose built out-patient and nearby audiology facility. Clinical commitments will be located in Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline.

Robust clinical and educational links have been established with the ENT Departments at Dundee and in Lothian. The post holder will be expected to take part in the on-call rota. ENT trainees rotate through Fife as part of the East of Scotland rotation and we have students from St Andrews and Dundee Universities.

Vascular services for NHS Tayside and NHS Fife have been delivered through a network, East of Scotland Vascular Network (ESVN), since 2002. The appointee will join the current 6 NHS Consultant Surgeons, 1 Professor and 1 Specialty Doctor working within ESVN. The appointee will be expected to perform clinical duties within NHS Tayside and NHS Fife. The on-call rota is one in six with prospective cover for holidays and study leave. Both elective work and emergency cover will be for vascular surgical conditions only.

The ESVN carries out a wide range of open and endovascular surgical procedures. There is an established endovascular aneurysm service deploying both fenestrated and conventional stent grafts jointly with radiology. Renal access surgery, surveillance and maintenance are well developed. Amputation rehabilitation and limb fitting are supported by a dedicated physiotherapy team. The Network has a strong commitment to both undergraduate and postgraduate training.
