SATURDAY, APRIL 8TH 2:00-6:00pm Celebrate art in our community!

Join us as we chase the snow away with another fun installment of the Palmer Art Walk! For the month of April, the Palmer Art Walk will be celebrating Easter with a special Easter egg hunt throughout our downtown Art Walk stops! Each Art Walk stop will have a collection of Easter eggs hidden at their locations. Each egg is filled with an array of prizes and goodies. One lucky winner will even win the ultimate prize....a little something we picked up at this year's Alaska Chicks Vintage Market! Walkers will be given a map of egg locations when they check in at the Museum and there will only be a limited number of eggs available to find so be sure to come early. Bring a friend along with you this month to help you search and you can even split the prizes!

Great dishes made from the freshest ingredients all in a convenient location smack dab in the middle of beautiful Palmer, Alaska, the Deli is definitely an eatery not to be missed.

For April, the Deli has such a surprise up its sleeve that even we do not know what they have planned. So be sure to stop by to see and while you're there, taste some of their more recent culinary triumphs.

Our favorite local vendor of the written word has a special treat for its visitors. This month, Fireside will be hosting a book signing with Lael Morgan, a long-established Alaska journalist who is best known for writing about good time girls and travels in the Far North. Lael will be available to discuss her new book, "Kitchen Stories Cookbook: Comfort Cookin' Made Fascinating and Easy," who she co-wrote with Linda Altoonian. Unlike any cookbook you've read before, "Kitchen Stories Cookbook" features recipes that are easy to make, economical, and elegant to serve. Featuring comfort foods from various nationalities and regions throughout our great country, even the most experienced cook will appreciate the fine, full flavor of these well-loved dishes.

Join Lael in honoring our rich history and in exploring our heritage throughout favorite foods from 4:00 - 5:45PM during the Palmer Art Walk at Fireside as she signs copies of her new delicious book. To really enhance your experience with the book, Fireside will be offering a select few an opportunity to partake in a banquet following the book signing at 6:00PM hosted at Turkey Red where guests will get to have dinner with Lael and learn about their meal from the chef and owner of Turkey Red, Alex Papasavas. Tickets for the banquet are $33.00 and can be purchased at Fireside Books or through their web-site at: goodbooksbadcoffee.

The Museum will be hosting an artist reception for its latest temporary exhibit, Beyond the Classroom. The exhibit features high school student art work comprised of a variety of media that has been reviewed by a panel of guest judges representing the Palmer Museum, the Valley Fine Arts Association, Valley Arts Alliance, Palmer Arts Council and the MatSu College Art Department. During the reception, guests are encouraged to vote for their favorite artist to help decide this year's Best in Show. This is the third year the Museum has hosted Beyond the Classroom which is generously being sponsored by Blaine's Art Supply in Anchorage and Cheap Joe's Art Stuff. The exhibit is designed to encourage the younger artists in our community to continue making art a part of their lives. Light refreshments will be served during the reception and as a special treat, the Museum will have a special kite making station set up for guests to decorate and build their own kite!

Stop by and welcome one of our newest additions to the Palmer Art Walk. This unique local venue specializes in hosting special Paint Nights. It really is the new 'CRAZE'. A fun and relaxing way to spend an evening out. Artists Uncorked offers studio classes that include children's classes, Alcohol ink's, mixed mediums and more. Occasionally, they host mobile Paint Nights at various venues throughout the valley but also offer classes at their studio in downtown Palmer. The studio is also available for private parties of all kinds!

For April's Art Walk, Artists Uncorked will be offering visitors an opportunity to create their own art through an egg painting class from 2:00 - 6:00pm. For $10.00, visitors will be given a wooden goose egg and a selection of paints to use so that they may create their own holiday-inspired art work.

This great up-cycled furniture store and Alaska Chicks retail location will be offering guests the opportunity to learn more about how to create their own up-cycled work projects using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Furniture painting maven, Kathy Stone, will be on hand to help answer questions on technique and construction while also demonstration the art of working with chalk paint.
