The occasion was the celebration of the birthday $f John Wesley, the founder of Methodism branch of the Christian religion. Using as his sermon, “The Holy Habits of Christian Life,” Mr. Hen- son pointed out that it is sinful for any Protestant to absent himself from the House of God. The Ge- neral Rules of Methodism given by Mr. Wesley and retained today, were repeated responsively by those present. Miss Marjorie Frost was at the console for the organ prelude. Solo- ist was Mrs. Joseph Vjlleli and Miss Olive Havens led the choir. At the close of the service, 19 new members were received into the fellowship of the church. They are Mrs. Ernest A. BIRTHDAY OF JOHN WESLEY FOUNDER OF METHODISM OBSERVED BY CHURCH

A special worship service was observer# by Waldwick Methodist Church recently when the hyms and rituals included the original "Sunday Service” employed by John Wesley and his brother, Charles Wesley, exactly 250 years ago. The occasion was the celebration of the birthday $f John Wesley, the founder of Methodism branch of the Christianreligion.

Using as his sermon, “The Holy Habits of Christian Life,” Mr. Hen­son pointed out that it is sinful for any Protestant to absent himself from the House of God. The Ge­neral Rules of Methodism given by Mr. Wesley and retained today, were repeated responsively by those present.

Miss Marjorie Frost was at the console for the organ prelude. Solo­ist was Mrs. Joseph Vjlleli and Miss Olive Havens led the choir.

More than 1,000 men and women will attend the 8-day international convention of Jeehowah witnesses opening July 19 at Yankee Stadium of New York City. There will be more than 125,000 delegations from all parts of the world for the occasion. Leonard A. Miller, presiding minister of Allendale unit will head 128 delegates The group -will travel by motor vehicles for the conclave. Hudson, Passaic and other Bergen 'County and New Jersey Witnesses are serving with New York congregations as the hosts to this convention.

The annual Waldwiek Reformed Church Sunday School picnic will be held on Saturday, at Maple Lake, Maple Drive, Wyckoff. All Sunday School students, teachers, parents and friends are requested to as­semble in front of First Reformed Sunday School with their cars to form a motorcade. All Sunday School students, teachers, and dri­vers will be provided with free admission and refreshment tickets. For friends, relatives etc. there will be a nominal charge of 25 cents. RED CROSS SPONSORS SWIM CLASSES HERE ON MONDAY, JULY 13th

Announcement was made last night that Red Cross intermediate swimming instruction classes will start at Waldwiek borough pool on Monday, July 13 and will continue until July 25.

Classes will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. and the same group will re­

ceive Ife savng nstructon n the after­noon.

Swimmers who have passed the elementary Red Cross requirements are eligible and should register with the swimming pool custodian if interested.
