Our MissionTo raise the profile of Victorian Industry within the Defence Land System environment, by promoting collaboration and team work focused primarily on delivering increased Land capability to the

Australian Defence Force.

Foreword

It gives me great pleasure to write this foreword on behalf of the Victorian Defence Alliance – Land Systems

(VDA-Land Systems) and to acknowledge the time and effort taken by our Members to submit their company

profiles in support of this inaugural Joint Capability Statement. Through significant support of AIDN-Vic, the ICN

and the Victorian Government, we have been able to capture the world-class, innovative and technologically

sophisticated capability of Victoria’s Defence Land Systems industry.

The Victorian Defence Alliance - Land Systems is the ‘lead-scout’ paving the way for the VDA-Maritime Systems,

VDA-Submarine Systems and VDA-Soldier Systems. These initiatives aim to deliver increased capability to

Defence, by promoting collaboration and teaming within Victoria’s strong Defence Industry.

Global Prime Defence contractors will have the ability to approach one body within Victoria when focusing their

efforts on supply chain opportunities and Defence capability development. VDA Land Systems provides a unique

platform for networking and bringing together specialist companies to collaborate and drive innovation across

Defence Land Systems.

The participation of many leading automotive suppliers in the Alliance reflects the depth and diversity of Land

System capability in Victoria. VDA-Land Systems aims to become the first, one-stop, point of call for primes and

governments seeking advanced Defence capability for manufacturing and sustainment.

We look forward to continuing to break new ground on behalf of the Victorian Defence Alliances and assisting you

Champion the cause of SMEs in the Victorian defence industry

The Australian Industry & Defence Network - Victoria Inc (AIDN-Vic) facilitates interaction and communication within

Victoria’s dynamic base of smaller defence supply companies, assisting members to exploit the opportunities provided by

the Australian and international Defence markets.

Victorian Defence Alliance

AIDN-Vic, with the assistance of the Victorian Government, has created a Teaming Manager role. Via this role AIDN-Vic has

supported the establishment of the Victorian Defence Alliance – Land Systems which focuses on assisting companies in

supporting the Australian Defence Force. The VDA is also looking to provide initiatives which will assist SMEs to attain global

competitiveness through increased industry efficiencies and collaboration.

Defence market intelligence & networking

AIDN-Vic helps its members’ network with other Defence suppliers and enhances its members’ connections with Defence

and Defence prime contractors. AIDN organises seminars, trade missions and a range of other networking and industry

support initiatives.

Communication link between industry & government

AIDN-Vic also facilitates communications between the Victorian Government and Federal Government Departments, in

particular the Department of Defence and the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research & Tertiary Education.

Importantly, AIDN-Vic represents the Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) perspective in assisting in the development of

Defence Industry Policy and direction setting.

National defence organisation

AIDN-Vic is part of the AIDN National Organisation which is made up of State and Territory Chapters with a combined

membership of 800+ companies. AIDN-Vic is the jewel in the crown with over 250 members, and growing.
