Thank you to all of our families who have been so incredibly supportive to our staff. All of our staff are working very hard to make sure that our students are not disadvantaged too much by the disruption to their learning. As a parent you don’t get to see what happens behind the scenes – please believe me that we are all working as hard and as fast as we can. The demands that the current health situation has placed on internet services has affected us as well.

Just a couple of updates:

• Parent- teacher interviews are going ahead as far as possible. We can do some by telephone but we only have one phone line working properly at the moment, so this is restricting what we can do. The teachers will ring you, but this might not be at your appointed time. Face to face interviews with appropriate social distances are still being held.

• Student work packs can be collected at the office or downloaded from our website. More activities will be added as they are available.

• Because of the uncertainty of the situation in the coming weeks the P&C have cancelled the hot-cross bun drive.

• The P&C Easter raffle will be drawn on Wed 8th April as planned. The P&C will contact prize winners to organise delivery. Tickets can still be dropped into the office.

• The canteen will remain closed for the term, but one of the teachers will open it briefly at lunch time for drinks and ice blocks.

• Star Stuck has been cancelled and Hunter Dance Festival postponed to a date to be organised.

• Band and dance lessons have been suspended and credits will be issued for any unused lessons.

• Because we don’t know what the situation will be by August and September we are still collecting payments for Year 4 camp and Year 5/6 excursion to Canberra. If the excursions are cancelled we will refund all monies.

• Learning is continuing for those students who need to be at school.

The worst moments are usually followed by the most beautiful silver linings.
