Mercy Health - West Hospital in Cincinnati, OH, is a new 250-bed hospital featuring advanced technology for patient care and expanded medical capabilities. Comprehensive care centers include heart, cancer, orthopedics, women’s health and OB/maternity.

Viega ProPress systems were installed throughout Mercy Health - West Hospital. Viega ProPress for copper in sizes ½" to 2" was installed for softened water, chilled water and hot water return applications. Viega ProPress for stainless in sizes 2½" to 4" was installed for the hospital’s potable water systems.

Viega press technology makes secure, reliable connections in copper, stainless, black iron pipe and PEX in less than seven seconds, even if the system hasn’t been shut down. Since connections can be made under flow, full shutdowns are no longer required. This significantly reduces the length of costly downtime.

Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, IN, is a full-service, 154-bed hospital that offers unmatched, comprehensive services in state-of-the-art facilities. Each year, Riverview treats 25,000 in their emergency department, births 750 babies and admits 6,500 patients.

Riverview Hospital has installed a variety of Viega systems, including Viega MegaPress for the condensate steam lines, Viega ProPress for copper in domestic lines and Viega ProPress for stainless steel in the kitchen’s potable water lines. Riverview keeps a sizeable in-house stock of Viega ProPress systems in sizes ½" to 2".

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Miami, FL, incorporates advanced technology, the most diverse group of board-certified pediatric specialists in the region and a bright, positive environment uniquely designed for kids and families. The four-story, 180,000-square-foot facility employs more than 650 physicians.

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital installed Viega ProPress in sizes ½" to 4" in nearly every available application, ranging from chilled water to softened water. The Max Planck Florida Institute, located in Jupiter, FL, is the first institute the German-based Max Planck Society has established in the United States. This high-end medical research facility focuses on brain function and neural circuits. Research at the Max Planck Florida Institute incorporates the most advanced technologies available.

The Max Planck Florida Institute installed Viega ProPress in 19 separate systems for their research lab, including the air conditioner condensate lines, lab air ventilation, gas ventilation, vacuum lines, temperate water returns and hot water recirculation among others.

The Max Planck facility itself is 100,000 square feet with approximately 115,000 feet of installed pipe, 30,000 feet of which is connected with Viega ProPress. Since Viega ProPress can make secure connections without joining materials like flux and solder, the flushing process is fast, reaching the chlorination point immediately.

The Gates Vascular Institute in Buffalo, NY, features four floors that are dedicated to the surgical and interventional management of cardiac, vascular and neurological conditions. It also houses a 16-bed intensive care unit and 62-bed short-stay suite.

The Gates Vascular Institute selected Viega MegaPress for the heating and chilled water systems. The Viega MegaPress system for black iron pipe is the first carbon steel press pipe fitting for both water and gas applications. Available in sizes ½" to 2", Viega MegaPress can be installed with Schedule 5 to Schedule 40 black iron pipe. Parkland Memorial Hospital, located in Dallas, TX, is the main hospital of the Dallas County Hospital District and serves as Dallas County’s public hospital. Their new facility is 2.5 million square feet, representing a 38% increase in bed space compared to their current facility.
