at all the items the Vacation Bible School Students donated to our Food Pantry last week! Thank you so much VBS Kids! You truly are “One-of-a-Kind”!

Since we double bag everything, we are always in need of paper grocery bags from Marsh or Payless. These bags are just the right size for the items we give to each family.

Remember – if you have free time on Fridays from 9:00-11:00 am, we can always use your help.

  NEWS FROM

SEED

PLANTING/EVANGELISM

COMMITTEE:

GOLDEN GALS: We are in full swing attending different areas for lunch. We travel to Monticello on July 25 to the Sportsman Inn. Then for something fun, we will go to Norway Gardens to view beautiful flowers and accessories for your garden. We

may even go check out another Bed and Breakfast for a grand tour so we can go the next time if everyone likes it. If we go to the Bed and Breakfast, we will open it up to our Golden Guys as well so we will have a great attendance. Our attendance so far has been great 12 – 16 attending and we are looking for more, so if you haven’t said “yes” yet, why not come July 25. Let’s plan on leaving the church at 10:45 a.m. so that will give us more time in Monticello. Thanks for sharing this with other church members and past members –

ZUMBA: We are still going strong even in the summer – so we just sweat a lot more! Open for all ages – you just know your own limit. Our instructor has some new things for us to try as she just attended a workshop on Zumba -- Wednesday nights at 6:45 p.m. Come and bring a friend!

DINE WITH NINE: Off for summer months, but don’t forget about joining next fall.

Staying in the Word Together – July 2014Join Christians throughout North America as they read together – each Sunday – the scriptures for the week. Known as the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL), the collections of readings is organized so that after a three year cycle, members of churches will have read through the majority of the Bible. In our church, our Sunday school curriculum follows the RCL.

As a church and denomination, we use the RCL and provide these to the pastors for direction on the order of worship and for guidance in Christian Education. A guest pastor may choose not to use the scriptures, but we are providing them to the congregation as a means of Staying in the Word Together. Traditionally, there will be an Old Testament, Psalm New Testament and Gospel reading. For additional readings go to http://lectionary.library.vanderbilt.edu/.
