The Wedding Singer Contact: C. Whittaker (850-833-3300 ext. 1819 or [email protected]) Fort Walton Beach High School Theatre will present the hilarious musical comedy The Wedding Singer Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 11-13 at 7:00pm and Sunday, April 14 at 2:00pm at Ft. Walton Beach High School, 400 Hollywood Boulevard, Fort Walton Beach, FL.

It’s Time to Party Like It’s 1985! The Wedding Singer is taking the stage!

It’s the season for love and The Wedding Singer will have you laughing all the way down the aisle! Based on the 1998 Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore film, The Wedding Singer celebrates the fun, fashion, music, hair and pop culture of the 1980s. This highly acclaimed musical comedy received five Tony Award nominations including “Best Musical,” eight Drama Desk Award nominations and was called “The most ingenious and amusing musical of a Hollywood film ever” by the Wall Street Journal. Wannabe rock star Robbie Hart (Darby Ellis) and his bandmates Sammy (Patrick Wilcox) and George (Thomas Tona) are the hottest wedding band in town. He’s the life of the party until his own fiancée Linda (Baillie Jones) leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie gives up on everything despite the encouragement of his spunky and funky grandma Rosie (Zoe Thomas). Enter Julia, (Deven Welborn) a banquet waitress who dreams of her own happily after ever but worries that her wealthy Wall-Street finance Glenn (Cole Farrah) will never pop the question. Her social- climbing mother (Carson Klaus) encourages her to do whatever it takes to snag him, but her party-girl cousin Holly (Lexi Larkin) notices the sparks that fly whenever Robby and Julia are together. In the end, it takes a village in Vegas full of celebrity impersonators to bring the two of them together to discover that they were meant to be each other’s happily ever after. Advance tickets are $10 and are available from the school office 7:00am-2:00pm, Monday through Friday, and from cast members. Tickets the day of the show are $15 at the door. Although children under three are free, this production is rated PG-13 for language and sexual innuendo so parental
