Father, thank You for the generosity of our
seminarians. Safeguard them as they prepare
for the priesthood. Keep all evil far from them, so
they may become strong Christian men who are
faithful to prayer, diligent in their studies, open
to spiritual direction, and docile to all aspects of
seminary formation. Above all, enflame their
hearts with love so they will be ardent and
gentle shepherds for Your Church. Amen
Please pray for all seminarians.
Your prayers and support make a difference.
Help in creating a culture of vocation.

SUNDAY MAY 17, 2020
V O C A T I O N C O R N E R
As we honor the Mother of
our Lord as the “Queen of
May,” may there be a
greater respect and
appreciation for all women
on earth who
nourish us in
mind, body
and soul.
LITURGICAL MINISTERS
As we work through ways to
accommodate the COVID-19
restrictions while having public
Mass, ministers’ duties may change.
So, for the next few weeks, Deacon
Steve and parish staff will be
scheduling ministers for the
weekend liturgies. Thank you for
your patience as we adjust to the
new requirements.
MASS ATTENDANCE
Bishop McKnight has dispensed us
from the obligation to attend
Sunday Mass until June 30, 2020.
Those who are at risk because of
underlying health issues or are over
60 are strongly encouraged, for
their own health, to avoid the risk of
attending public celebrations of
the Mass.

PARISH NEWS & EVENTS
PARISH SCHOOL NEWS
PARISH PICNIC At this time, we are planning to have our parish picnic
on Sunday, July 12, although we know, due to the
COVID-19 restrictions and the current economic
situation, it will not look the same. The Picnic Committee
is working with leadership to develop options for
providing an opportunity to gather as a parish for this
important day of fellowship and fundraising. Please
watch the bulletin and our social media accounts for
information as it becomes available.
PARISH DISASTER RESPONSE TEAM Our parish team continues to offer assistance to those
who need help. They have helped obtain and deliver
food to parishioners who are homebound and cannot
get to the store. They have also helped provide baby
supplies to needy families. Homebound parishioners
were given Catholic reading materials and our deacons
have offered spiritual direction and guidance to those
struggling in a variety of ways. Finally, we are also
grateful for the group of parishioners who volunteered to
make calls to check on everyone in our parish
community. These calls were very helpful in making us
aware of the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Please let the parish office know if you are in need
during this difficult time.
PICNIC QUILTS NEEDED If you have a new/unused finished quilt to donate to the
picnic, please contact Janet Hirschman at 573-257-1047
or Annette Borghardt at 573-353-9681. Please let us
know as soon as possible in order for us to be able to
determine if we will have both the quilt wheel and quilt
auction or just one due to limited quilts. All quilts should
be turned in by June 1, if possible.
PROTECTIVE MASKS Thank you to all of those who have made masks and
donated them to our parish and the various other
entities. We appreciate it! If anyone would like to
donate material/supplies and/or make masks for others,
we would appreciate it. Please contact Debbie
Boeckman, who is coordinating this effort. Also, contact
her if you need elastic for masks. We will have these
face masks available at Mass for as long as the supply
lasts. We ask that you take only one per person. Bring it
home to wash and bring it back to Mass to wear again.
JAGUAR UPDATE What an outpouring of love and kindness shown to our
8th graders at the drive-by parade! It was
overwhelmingly awe-inspiring to see so many families,
grandparents and extended families who came to pay
tribute to this special class. They are deserving of it and
so much more. The young men and women of the
Class of 2020 have shown much grace during this time.
Instead of sitting around complaining they met with
Mrs. Bardwell and me, and began planning how to
make the best out of a dire situation. They shoved
away the doubts and trusted that what they planned
would bring them a new sense of wonderment. They
had 2020 vision in God even though the circumstances
were unclear. They have such great potential to be
strong leaders; it will be fun to watch how they use their
gifts in high school. Please put on your calendar now,
June 16 at 6:00pm. Although it is a private Mass you will
be able to watch LIVE via Facebook, the graduation of
this incredible class. I look forward to recognizing them
for all they have experienced, accomplished, and
learned while attending St. Martin School.
