  YÜÉÅ g{x ctáàÉÜËá Wxá~ ing at the dress.  Then I found myself trying it on.  It was like the devil was whispering to me, ‘Wow, you look great in that dress.  You should buy it.’” “Well,” the husband persisted, “you should know how to deal with the tempter.  Just tell him, ‘Get behind me, Sa‐tan!’” “I did,” replied his wife, “but then he said, ‘It looks great from back there, too!’”  #2 – Pastor Jackson habitually told his congrega on that if they needed a pastoral visit to drop a note in the offering plate.  One evening, though, a er service, he discovered a note that read:  “I am one of the loneliest members and the heaviest contributors of your church.  May I have a visit to‐morrow evening?” It was signed, “Your wife.”  #3 – Mr. Johnson, a businessman from Wisconsin, went on a business trip to Louisiana.  He immediately sent an e‐mail back to his wife Jean.  Unfortunately, he mistyped a le er and the e‐mail ended up going to a Mrs. Joan Johnson, the wife of a preacher who had just passed away. That preacher’s widow took one look at the e‐mail and promptly fainted.  When she was revived, she nervously pointed to the message, which read, “Arrived safely, but it sure is hot down here!”  #4 – The son of a preacher said to his mother one day, “I’ve decided that I want to be a preacher like my dad so that I can clean up the mess this world is in.” “That’s just wonderful,” purred his mother.  “You can go upstairs and start with your room!”  #5 – Every evening the Reverend Phillips family gathered together for a Bible story and prayer.  One evening, the sto‐ry was about Lot and his wife escaping from Sodom and Go‐morrah.  As all know, the great climax of the narra ve is when Lot’s wife looks back at the destruc on of Sodom and Gomorrah and turns into a pillar of salt. The story sat well with Tommy, who raise his hand the sec‐ond the story was over and told his father, “That’s like when mom was driving home in the car; she looked back at Rachel and me and turned into a telephone pole.”  #6 – There was this well‐meaning lady mailing a box of Bi‐bles for her church to missionaries overseas.  “Is there any‐thing breakable in this box?” asked the postal clerk. “Only the Ten Commandments,” answered the lady.  Fr. Murphy 

Dear Parishioners,       Welcome back to Corpus Chris  Parish!  Two weeks ago the bishop announced that public masses in the church would resume.  We now have come to that day when we can gather as a people of God around the Table of the Lord.  However, unfortunately, it comes with restric ons, and as your pastor, I ask you to please be understanding and pa‐ent.  The bishop has mandated a number of protocols to be 

implemented in all parish churches throughout the diocese.  Some of which you may conclude are a bit too much especial‐ly in light of the fact that there have been no reported cases of COVID‐19 among our parishioners.    

      Nevertheless, while I respect your opinion on these ma ers, I ask everyone to be compliant with the bishop’s mandate.  These restric ve measures are meant to keep eve‐ryone protected.  As the saying goes, “it is be er to be safe than sorry.”    

     As your pastor, I always have in mind everyone’s safety.  So, in light of this, I ask you to make every effort to help keep everyone safe and secure.  We will con nue to tape the Sun‐day masses and make them available to our parishioners who remain at home and are concerned about gathering in our church.  These videos can be watched on our parish website and Facebook page.  Concerning Facebook live, we decided that many of our older parishioners do not use social media, so we are refraining from using this technology for the  me being.  

     Parish ministries will be restar ng soon at the church.  Please be advised that ministry heads need to talk to me about when they will begin their mee ngs and how they plan on implemen ng social distancing guidelines.  

     Also, our Monday holy hours will resume this coming Mon‐day.

CCD Classes  

Will not resume for the remainder of this school year. We fully expect to be back when the secular schools  resume  in  the Fall.   FIRST COMMUNION AND CONFIRMATION Classes need  to be  in  con‐tact with  their  teachers  to  receive mandatory  assignments to  complete  their prepara on  for  the  Sacraments  they are studying for.   First Communion  will be held in June,  We do not have a date from the Bishop yet for Confirma on but his office is working on it.   We will let you know as soon as we know.    If  you  have  any  ques ons  you  can  call  DRE  Sue AnnNanney at 904 797‐4842.
