as the new general manager of golf Cart group, I am excited to be bringing you this second edition of our digital magazine.
Firstly, I would like to congratulate Peter Davies, the outgoing general manager on his new and challenging role as CFo for our group. I
was fortunate enough to have some time with Peter to run over some of the exciting projects golf Cart
group are working on, in particular this new digital reading platform for our customers!
after such a great response from our first edition, we are hoping readers find this issue just as interesting and educational as the last.

merging long wheel base vehicles with solar power...versatile, green and cost effectiveWith petrol prices remaining at an all time high, it seems inevitable that consumers would be looking for ways to be more fuel efficient.
Both business and private customers are searching the market for transport options that offer versatility, efficiency and also run emission free. The emC long wheel base (lWB) utility is the way of the future for customers hoping to achieve these goals.
The emC lWB utility is a medium sized vehicle that offers reduced fuel consumption, and therefore a reduced carbon footprint. These vehicles can also be fitted with custom solar roof panels, substantially increasing their energy return.
The lorikeet Tourist Park on the North Coast of NSW, invested in a custom built laundry & housekeeping solar vehicle in early 2011. The vehicle was designed using the emC 2 Seat lWB utility and as a result of the additional solar panels fitted to the vehicle, generates over 300 watts of energy. The panels in no way affect the visual ascetics of the car or its superior maneuverability as it transports staff and equipment around the park each day.
Depending on the specific design requirements, the maximum load capacity of each lWB vehicle will vary. This is because of the effect the wheelbase has on the weight distribution of the vehicle. Wheelbase dimensions are crucial to the balance and steering of any automobile, particularly when carrying a heavy load. The emC e Series 2 Seat lWB has a load capacity of 500kg and is ideal for carrying bulky and heavy loads.

The emC custom design laundry & housekeeping vehicle has an open driver’s cabin which provides a high-level and customer friendly driving position. This, plus a large split fold windscreen and rear view mirrors give the driver excellent all-round visibility.
The vehicle has a top speed of 30km/h, which can be restricted for low speed and commercial sites. The near silent and low vibration operation makes this style of vehicle suitable for use indoors and in environmentally sensitive work areas. Indoor operation is safe as the vehicle emits no exhaust emissions.
There are a range of cargo options available and suitable for many commercial, private and promotional uses. Insulated boxes offer a perfect solution for food and beverage services in work sites, airports and golf courses. Tow bars, amber safety lights, weather curtains, custom colours, tray backs, and seat belts are just a few features that can be added to any lWB vehicle to suit a specific purpose.

recycling your golf cart batteries is vital in protecting the environment from the heavy metals and toxic elements contained in each battery.
elements such as cadmium, alkaline, mercury, nickel metal hydride and lead acid can threaten our environment if not properly discarded or recycled. Batteries that end up in landfills and incinerators leak into the environment which can cause serious health risks to humans, flora and fauna.
at this stage australia does not have a national recycling scheme for non-rechargeable batteries. as a result, leading members of the battery industry have joined together to investigate the initiation of a national battery collection and recycling scheme.
