the question:The buyers backed out of the contract on my house... can the buyers now sue us to recover inspection and survey costs?

the answer:Depends on the circumstances as always. If the Buyer simply exercises theirrights under the contract not to move forward, like under the Due Diligence provision, then there should be no grounds for suing a Seller. However, if the Seller acted in bad faith or otherwise breached the contract then the Buyer could seek to recover their costs related to the transaction.
