  • SPrING FeVer ToUre got the feverthe Spring Fever that is! The cure? Why, seeing All Time Low and Pierce The Veil co-headline the Spring Fever Tour, of course. Head-

ing across North America this spring and taking along bands, Mayday Parade and You Me At Six, we caught ATL and PTV at the first of two sold-out shows at the Best Buy Theater, NYC.

With a 360 degree line wrapping around Times Squares Best Buy Theater, doors opened on April 24th at 6pm. Kids entered the opulent venue to discover chandeliers, multiple bars, bands merchandise tables, and varying levels of General Admission levels. Fans could choose to be in the pit area, sit in stadium style seats, or stand on the in-between level; safe from crowd surfers and moshers but still free to dance.

The show began promptly at 7pm with Brit-ish imports, You Me At Six. With a seven-song setlist, the boys from Surrey kicked off with Lover Boy and finished with Under-dog. Frontman, Josh Franceschi, engaged

the crowd by inciting circle pits and getting people to jump and sing along with the band as they played songs off their three studio albums; announcing at the end of their set that they would be headlining back in the U.S. in the fall.

Hailing from Tallahassee, Florida, the next band to take the stage was Mayday Parade. Long-haired frontman, Derek Sanders lead the crowd in an eight-song setlist beginning with the song Jamie All Over; the first song on their debut album, A Lesson In Romantics. The band continued on to play hits off their three full-length studio albums, including their cover of Gotyes Somebody I Used To Know from the Punk Goes Pop 5 compilation album. Fans were treated to an early taste of the Pierce The Veil set as singer Vic Fuentes joined Mayday Parade on stage to sing the cover with Sanders. The set concluded with the song Oh Well, Oh Well from Mayday Parades self-titled release.

Throughout the tour, the co-headliners have been alternating the closing spot in the line-up and on this night, All Time Low would follow Pierce The

  • Veil. At the conclusion of Mayday Parades set, a large production started to take place. There was a lot of movement backstage and when the curtain dropped, fans were taken into a Tim Burton-esk world. Pierce The Veil took the stage playing the song May The Noises Startle You In Your Sleep Tonight with a lot of energy as their set glowed neon and moved be-hind them. Throughout the eleven-song set, the crowd was hit with colorful lights and confetti shot out of several canons on the sides of the stage, taking fans into a psychedelic carnival type feel. The four-piece band from San Diego played a heavy, high energy set, enticing large mosh pits and crowd surfers, galore. Things slowed down when the band retired from the

stage leaving singer Fuentes with an acoustic guitar to sing Im Low On Gas & You Need A Jacket. Fuentes told the crowd to pretend they were all friends and sit-ting around a campfire while he played and the fans sang along. The band joined Fuentes back on stage to play two more songs and they encored with King For A Day off their newest release Collide With The Sky.

Closing the night with a thirteen-song set was none other than Baltimore based four piece band, All Time Low. A more minimal stage design compared to Pierce The Veil, ATL focused more on their light-ing and a simple banner reading get low that they dropped in the beginning of the set to display large Bat-Signal reminiscent lights spelling out ATL. The set was filled with new songs off the bands October

  • 2012 release, Dont Panic, like If These Sheets Were States and Outlines but also featured many crowd favorites from their past albums includ-ing Coffee Shop Soundtrack and Stella. In true ATL fashion, the band interacted with the crowd, made lewd jokes and comments, insulted each other, and collected bras that fan girls threw on the stage. Guitarist Jack Barakat even invited a fan onstage to twerk with him. A surprise to both the band and the audience was when season three winner of The Voice, Cassadee Pope, joined the band onstage to harmonize to Backseat Serenade with singer, Alex Gaskarth. Incidentally, Pope is girlfriend to ATL drummer, Rian Dawson. If youve ever been to an All Time Low show be-fore, you know theyre going to end with fan fa-

vorite, Dear Maria, Count Me In. Included in the performance is the bands signature guitar toss to crew members Danny Kurily and Matt Flyzik, as Gaskarth and Barakat jump into the crowd to fin-ish the song and interact with the fans. Barakat was literally swept away as he crowd surfed and the fans didnt want to send him back. Gaskarth had to pretend to reel the guitar player in like a fish before the crowd returned Barakat to the stage and the band could finish the song togeth-er, closing the night at the Best Buy Theater.

  • TreY ewALDrey Ewald has always been sur-rounded around music; hes been playing music ever since hed re-

membered. Growing up in Long Island with his uncle allowed Trey to broaden his music talents and abilities, obtaining toy guitars, moving on to the ones he actually played. By the third grade, Trey was able to play both the drums and guitar. From there, I started writing down whatever ideas I had, even if they were ridiculous, and slowly but surely they turned into real ideas Trey says. His influence for his music not only

comes from anything and everything he hears around him, but also from the music he grew up listening to; after all his first concert was at a young two years old for Van Halen with his father and uncle! His

music on his new EP brings back a certain place on the map and place in time for him, something different for him as he traveled all over the United States to write his music. His

love for music coincides with his love for writing, which results in awesome songs. His perseverance in taking the

  • necessary classes he needed to in order to graduate early and make music his full-time thing was his greatest personal accomplishment and biggest step in pursuing his ca-reer. Signing to management was also a big accomplishment of his, on the business aspect of things.

Trey aspires to continue writing music and working with as many peo-ple as he can in the future. He hopes

to be on the road, if everything works out as planned and to take opportunities as they come. He will always continue to have music in his life and make the best of any situation he is faced with. In the upcoming months, you can expect to see him doing some acoustic shows in the tri-state area along with creating new music and releasing a new record in the upcoming months. He is currently build-ing a home studio to work on more dem-os. An ideal tour for Trey would consist

  • of Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake, who are also artists he enjoys covering. You can actually find a cover of Bru-no Mars When I Was Your Man Billy Joels Vienna mashup on Treys Youtube Page, which also happens to be one of my favorites. The rest of Treys set at his show at The Studio at Webster Hall was very good. He got the crowd pumped up with his very upbeat and happy sound. He performed his known single, Happy Now, a song

that is played in Hollister, which many girls sang along to. The crowd loved his performance and danced along. You can get Treys EP 3, which represents being third in his family and also where he got the nickname Trey from, on iTunes! Like him on Facebook , follow him on Twitter and Instagram @TreyE-wald. Be sure to be on the lookout for Treys future music and tour dates.

  • Deleasa kicked off his headlining show in New York City at The Studio at Webster Hall on Friday, April 26. Fans were not only pumped but incredibly proud to follow and support Mikey De-leasa on his journey. His big family and friends from Jersey also came to support - it was a packed house! Mikeys fa-ther, Bucky was outside the venue, sell-ing his delicious gelato ices. Mikeys grandparents actually sat right next to us sidestage, showing how proud they were of their grandson. Brother-In-Law, Kevin Jonas and friends in Ac-

tion Item, Brian Cag and Anthony Li also came to show their support. With a twelve-song set, they started the night off with Get it and closed with Discount. They also played fan favorities as they sang back the words as loudly as they could. After the show, a bunch of fans waited to meet Mikey. He took the time to meet everyone. It was a beautiful day in New York City, a great turnout, surrounded with wonderful company.

  • MUSIC IN VISUAL had the opportunity to speak to Sammy Adams, also known as Bostons Boy, on his last official day of tour in New York City at 92.3 Nows One Night Stand which also happens to be one of the best crowds to perform for. You may know him from his hit song with Enrique Igle-sias Finally Found You or other hit singles in-cluding I Hate College and Only One. He recently wrapped up his tour with Tmills, which was a fun tour. Funny things have happened including, a friend coming on stage in a full grandfather suit. Sammy told ev-

eryone that it was his great grandfather and his friend continued twerking on stage and doing silly things. Their nights are constantly fun, whether it consists of

just performing for a crowd of wonderful fans or huge bus parties with over fifty people.

At 19-20 years old Sammy realized that he wanted to ac-tually pursue rap and

veer off from producing music. He raps about all of his college experiences. We took advantage of the college scene. It was often undervalued by labels and music execs at the time. Being an un-

Being a fan of rap has helped in terms of his rap delivery and be-ing a fan of rock music has helped him in terms of productions. He has worked with artists he grew up looking up to, like Pharrell, creat-ing songs that ended up being a dif-ferent final product than the usual ones that he creates. It has a differ-ent tone than the rest. Sammys EP Boston Boy was actually made on a whim without any expecta-

tions of making an EP. It was an expe-rience of just taking the time to write music. You cant always force music says Sammy. Working with artists hed grown up listening to, creating an EP on a whim with a lot of success, and sell-ing out hundreds of shows all over the United States What made you realize that you made it? I think it depends Adams says. A lot of people have dif-ferent guidelines by which they judge how they made it. I think Ive had a good amount of success I wouldnt say Ive made it yet. But working with guys like Pharrell and being in the studio with cool

  • dudes, and just making music and them having respect for you definitely just boosts your confidence. Its more of a confidence thing than making it off of something individual or not. Its about doing things when the time was right Of Sammys songs, he is most proud of his hit with Enrique along with the single that is coming out with Mike Posner and Ryan Tedder from One Republic, who wrote it and pro-duced it. He has been bringing fans on the tour bus and has gotten a lot of positive feed back, including the posi-tive feedback from the crowd at Ter-minal 5 when he brought Mike Posner on stage to perform it with him! It s just so cool to get that reaction on the next record youre putting out next.

In five years, Sammy sees him-self at the Grammys year after year. If he didnt pursue music, he probably wouldve been an athlete, or a teach-er, or maybe even a manager. Advice that he would give his middle school self would be Do better in school and work out harder, athletically.

New York City certainly proved itself in being one of the most hype and energetic crowds. The night included Sammys collaboration with Mike Posner, his remix of Taylor Swifts I knew you were trouble, friend, Sam Pepper, on stage vining Sammy and of course, the loud crowd sing-ing along to every one of his songs. Definitely a down-to-earth, humble guy who is absolutely awesome live.
