6.2 Technical Regulations – Discuss reviews done

Schoolgirls levels discussed – HR to send suggestions to GWA

Apparatus Specialists – Up to 6 athletes allowed for level 10 at Australian Championships for each state – Additional gymnasts from each state (over 6) must meet specified GA requirements

Section 3.5 – HR to discuss with GA regarding which state interstate transfers compete for and the process for their qualification.

6.3 Event Handbook – Review & Discuss Changes

Honour Age Groups as stated

State Championships – specialised “qualified” team session – no All around all around champion – to solve the issue of judges having to do all sessions of each level.

Team Pennants qualifying competition for team event at states – suggestion to split into regions and allow top 4 from each region – 1 team per club.

RM requested IL 6 in earlier season (Elite Qualification Comp #1 & 2) in addition to later in year – compete in Spring States.

Perth International 2016 – alignment with GA Inter-state Classic series

o requested clear approval/direction from GA after GWA office information/feedback

Requested from GA & GWA results from events via spreadsheet, to allow for easier calculation

of the Athlete awards. Waiting for results, to then pass on to relevant TC members.

Analysis of NL competitions (age groups and #’s per level). Waiting raw information from GWA

office.

Proposal for Coaching Workshops to be held with Black and Gold Squad sessions

mis-understanding/mis-communications between GWA office and WAG TC on calendar planning

principals and underling TC objectives. Feel this is hampering progress, and resulting in poor

time utilization for both parties.

Final course for the year – Beginner course on October 11th. .

Judges Committee Planning

Ashleigh Lyons utilized her National Exposure scholarship at National Clubs in Bendigo in September.

Judges newsletter planned for distribution in early October.

Social function planned for 21st or 22nd November.

Events

Colleen, Donna, Jo and Sharron attended the SWRGA Regional Championships in Katanning on 18th – 20th Sept.

Colleen, Ben, Coral King and Josh Fabian attended the NW Invitational in Broome on 25th – 29th September. Josh and Coral presented athlete clinics and Colleen presented a Beginner judging course.

November 2015 Report

Black and Gold Squad (Formerly Talent Squad)

Planning has started for the first training session on 28th November. Total of around 53 athletes so will need a minimum of 5 coaches to take on

these groups. Need to know exact numbers and if any gymnasts have retired since the middle of the year.

Once budgets are in and we know which coaches are available to coach that weekend I can then go ahead and confirm rotations with the exact number of

athletes.

WG Elite Liaison – Nov 2015 International Events

2015 World Championships o Emily Little and Martine George. Australia will need to attend the test event to

qualify for the team event in Rio.

National Events

WAIS / GWA athletes attending Australian Classic event in Geelong from 10th to 14th November. No clubs attending this event.

o 1 Senior o 3 Junior o 7 IL 10 o 4 IL 9 o 2 IL 8 o 7 IL 7 o Martine, Nikoali, Regan, Josh, Alexey, Stacey and Michelle attending.

Team Future Camp Canberra 14th to 18th Nov o GWA Fliers – 16 athletes. Staff attending is Michelle, Regan, Alexey and Dhana

and Stacey as expert coaches. o Star Mites – 1 athlete and one coach. WAIS coaches assisting with transport and

coaching o High Flyers – 2 athletes and one coach o College Park – 1 athlete attending as a member of the GWA Fliers Program as

currently on trial. o Vital – 1 athlete and one coach

State Events

Elite Challenge 2

Good opportunity for the athletes to train and compete at Loftus. In the future highly recommend a discussion is held with a member of the WAIS senior coaching team prior to advertising work orders / judging panels to ensure the needs of the athletes and coaches or discussed.

2016 Events o RM waiting for information from Heidi regarding competition discussions to

improve the competition opportunities for IL 2 to IL 6 and the transition of IL 6 to IL 7

o Mixed teams concept to be addressed for IL 2 o Waiting for information from Gymnastics Australia that will possibly impact the

Elite competition dates o Event Handbook possibly alterations needed due to Ideal Testing changes

Other

Ideal Testing Changes o Online system for IL 5 to IL 10 or athletes born in 2006 to 2000 o Possible implementation of online system for IL 2 to IL 6 gymnasts.

Information will be distributed in the coming weeks from GA or from the Elite Liaison Coordinator

Elite Forum – proposed date of Thursday 10th Dec at 7.30pm. How do we go about confirming this?
