ElECTRICAL RESISTIVITY EXPERIMENT AT BAHARYA OASIS
To determine the possible extension of the iron ores outside ElGadeda mine.
To examine the possibility of using the 2D resistivity profiling in iron ore exploration.
The Objectives are:
The area of study:
ElGadeda Mine. The area of study.
The instrumentation:
The Geo-International ResMaste-616
The VES was applied at an area where the iron ore depth was known(Well 105). The benefit of this step is to define the resistivity of the iron ore and the overlying rock units.
The 2D-profiling was applied to detect the presence of iron ore in the unexplored area.
The acquisition process takes one day.

Data Interpretation
The iron ore resistivity response about 80
Ohm/m from the VES in the area where the iron
ore exists.
The anomaly of the predicted iron ore.
The iron ore in the new area is expected at depth of 5-11 m.
The 2D resistivity profiling proved useful for the determination of the presence of the underlying iron ore.
