Waikele Extravaganza 2017 Success!

(Article written by Kiana Moore/PCNC Facilitator)

A LOUD Shout-Out “WOO-HOO!” to our families and friends, who volunteered their time, donated goods, and came to enjoy and support our annual Waikele Extravaganza school-wide fundraiser event, which took place on Friday, Nov. 3. Thank you also to all our teachers and entire faculty and staff who spent many hours preparing for this day. Mahalo nui loa to Mana Xtreme Cheer, under the direction of Mr. Scott Ali’i, Program Director. The audience was captivated by their unreal acrobatic, mesmerizing, high jumping moves! Mahalo nui loa to our very own Waikele Warrior students, they owned the stage and woo’d the audience with their gifted musical talents. Riley Oshiro sang “Introduce Me”; Janelle Ramones sang “Rise Up”, while her sister Jana Ramones (former Waikele Warrior) accompanied her on the piano; Kiana Waikiki and Leira Lapurga danced hula to “Henehene Kou Aka”; Chloe Wright and Tianna Wailehua danced Tahitian to “Fire”; Rockell Kim sang “Castle On A Cloud”; and Kalli Tanita sang A cappella to “Deep Cries Out”. As you can tell, we have many talented warriors here at Waikele! Thank you all for braving the spotlight and sharing your love for music. Mahalo nui loa to our awesome Custodial Team who helped with set-up, clean-up, and direct traffic at the bottom parking lot area, as well as assured the safety of everyone walking from/to their vehicle. Mahalo nui loa to Marie Kawabata for organizing Boy Scout Troop 76, in volunteering their services to help pick up trash and recyclables. Many mahalos to all the talented crafters for supporting our event. They displayed their tables with a variety of handmade and handcrafted goods to sell. Mahalo to Jullie Passos, Keegan Passos, Lee Ann Akana, Joann Ramos, Jannelyn Duldulao, Marjie Nishina, Wei Jacobsmeier, and Keikilani Ancheta. Lastly, a HUGE MAHALO to the following organizations inside and outside our Waikele community, families and friends who contributed donations, and/or helped in the preparation and cleanup, and volunteered at the booths. Our apologies if any names are missing, as there were many donations without donation forms and some who wanted to remain anonymous.
