Walk about in HartlepoolWalk about in Hartlepool has receivedaccreditation through The Ramblers. Theaccreditation endorses the quality andexperience and support that the walkers canexpect when taking part in a regular healthwalk through walk about in Hartlepool.
Walking for health, led by The Ramblers andMacmillan cancer Support, is a nationwideprogramme aimed at improving the nation’shealth through walking.
What is a health walk?A health walk is a free and local short walkhelping you get active and stay active at apace that is right for you. It is a great way tostart physical activity and explore your localarea whilst meeting like minded people. Allhealth walks are led by qualified volunteerwalk leaders who will make you feelwelcome regardless of your walking ability.
Why join a health walk?Sometimes a walk alone in the fresh air is justwhat we need. But if you’re just gettingstarted and you’re not sure that you want todo all your walking alone, or if you like theidea of having people around to help youstay motivated, then come along and join in.
What do I need?Nothing! Just a pair of suitable, comfortablewalking shoes. Sensible clothing appropriatefor the weather. All walks are free of charge.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the start time.
Are you interested in becoming aVolunteer Walk Leader?Walk about in Hartlepool wouldn't exist without our fantastic volunteer walk leaders,who lead health walks.
As a volunteer walk leader, you would behelping people in your community to getactive and healthy, providing vital supportthat they otherwise might not get, as well as,ensuring walks are friendly, safe and well run.
Walk leaders are also our ambassadors forwalking, showing people that walking reallycan make a big difference to their lives.

WalkBeginners walk: up to 30 minutes/ very gentle pace, on flatground. Distance up to 1 mile
Intermediate Walk: 45 - 60 minute/steady pace. Distance 1 mile - 3 mile
Intermediate Walk: 90 minutes/steady to moderate pace. Distance 3 miles+
Want to increase your fitness and try something new, try NordicWalking.*
Away Day walk - approximately 120 minutes in length at a steadyto moderate pace.**
