Thank you to all those parishioners

and friends who contributed towards

our Weekly Budget and expenses of

$9,000.00.

July 12th Collection: $6,135.00

Thank you to all parishioners who

have been sending in their weekly

offertory collection. If there are any

parishioners that have not sent it in

but are in a position to do so, we ask

that you consider mailing a weekly

offering to the parish office. Every

week that passes without meeting

our budgeted collection amount puts

our parish at greater financial risk.

We appreciate your continued

support.

The Re-Igniting Our Faith campaign

has raised $201,220.00 from 91

families towards our goal! Thank

you so much to those of you who

have already generously contributed

to this effort.

To Fr. Tom & Parishioners of ASCC

2020 Missionary Cooperation

Plan Appeal

I am sorry not to be with you in person

to share with you. Fortunately,

though, the Diocese of Albany is giving

us this opportunity to let you know

about our congregation and the help

we need.

Our congregation, the Missionary

Sisters of the Holy Rosary, was

founded in Ireland in 1924 by Bishop

Joseph Shanahan, C.S.Sp. For the

education of the women of Nigeria,

West Africa. We now are an

international community working in

nine countries of Africa and in Brazil,

South America. We serve in all forms

of education, medical work, pastoral

work, local development and

agriculture and assisting trafficked

women and the homeless. We have

been serving in the AIDS, Ebola and

Covid-19 epidemics. Our pressing

need at the moment is to construct a

convent for our Sisters running a

clinic in Efore, Kogi State, Nigeria.

Efofe is a town of 7,500 with 25

surrounding villages. Traditional

healers provided the medical services.

There was a high rate of sickness and

death in mothers and children. We

started a clinic. Two Sisters and their

staff provide antenatal care, delivery

services, immunizations, nutrition

services and round the clock health

services. The two Sisters servicing

there are housed in two rooms at the

end of an adjacent building where

deliveries are conducted. More Sisters

cannot be stationed in Efofe until a

convent is built. Our Superior General

and Council asked us to raise funds to

build a convent. For us it is an urgent

need. Your help, large or small, will be

very much appreciated. We also ask

for prayers for the safety of the Sisters

as this is an area which can be

attacked by Biko Haram or Fulani

herdsmen.

Know that you and your intentions will

be remembered in the daily prayer of

all of our Sisters. We are sincerely

grateful for you help. May God bless

you and protect you in this Covid-19

pandemic!

Gratefully,

Sr. Ellen Anderson, MSHR, M.D.

Volunteers are Needed for

Reopening

each in-person Mass

As you are aware, New York State

has given places of worship approval

to hold services at a 25% capacity.

With that being said, there are many

guidelines that we will need to

implement in order to be in

compliance with CDC, NYS

Department of Health as well as

Albany Diocesan regulations for

holding mass. Fr. Tom wants to

make sure that we provide a safe

environment for those who choose to

attend Mass.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of

Albany suggests volunteers are

under 60 years old, in good health,

not immune-compromised, willing to

wear mask and gloves, and capable

of moving quickly and efficiently

through prescribed tasks.

If you are interested in helping,

please call the Parish office at 518

482 4497 or email us at

[email protected]. We are

looking for volunteers for the

following roles:

Parking Lot Attendants

Ushers to escort Parishioners

to their seat, watch for social

distancing, assure facial

masks are worn, instruct

protocols

Cleaners after mass

Please note: The dispensation from

the obligation to attend Sunday

Mass remains in place, so those who

are vulnerable or even simply

uncomfortable attending a public

liturgy are encouraged to remain at

home and view Mass via livestreams,

which we will continue in our parish.

During the past school year, students were offered an opportunity to part take in enrichment learning sessions on Friday afternoons. In January, sewing was again offered to anyone in grades 5-8

who wanted to learn to sew. A group of nine girls signed up.

Under the supervision of Mrs. Nowosielski and volunteer, Kris Burns, the group was given a sewing assignment. Ms. Johnson asked if we could make some liturgical pieces for the school gathering space that could be used for school masses and prayer services. This included an altar cloth, a wall banner and a smaller banner for the lectern. Three groups were created and each group was given a part/colors of the liturgical calendar

(ordinary time, advent and lent) and the creations began. Each group was also given a particular item to create too. They got creative in selecting color combinations, measuring and using quilting tools and piecing them together. Lucky for us, the design layouts were set in place before the pandemic hit and the pieces were put together at home.

When the students return in

September, they will be happy to see their finished product proudly displayed in the gathering space. Great job everyone – each piece was made with love, laughter and friendship. Wall Banner created by
