Winter Warm Up Week February 14th to 19th Throughout the week of February 14th to 19th, Community and Team Members participated in a variety of activities to try and forget about the cold winter months. The Waterside was a sea of RED on Valentine’s day with Members wearing red clothing and raising just over $250 in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation. On Touring Tuesday, Members climbed aboard the Waterside bus and travelled to Pakenham to enjoy a homemade lunch prepared by Watt’s Cooking (the butter tarts are well worth the drive). Mid-week, Lifestyles Coordinator, Alison, joined Community Member Reg Bustard for an afternoon of cross country skiing on the trials along the Mississippi River. Things heated up considerably by Thursday and Members celebrated with a Hawaiian pool party. Community and Team Members enjoyed a selection of tropical fruit, V!VAlicious drinks and swimming in the heated saltwater pool. Friday’s events had Members participating in musical activities, singing and sharing many laughs with entertainer Paddy Stewart. On Saturday, we ended a fun filled week with a visit to Fulton’s Sugar Shack for a taste of Lanark County’s famous maple syrup.

Winter Warm Up Week is a time for Community and Team Members to have fun and Make Today Great together! Thank you to everyone for your participation.

March 2011 Brings Changes at The WatersideSince mid-October Valerie Danis, Administrative Coordinator has been working double duty as she assumed the role of Acting Community Director. Val has done an amazing job juggling the various roles while V!VA worked diligently to find the right person for the Waterside.

On behalf of V!VA Retirement and Members at the Waterside we want to thank Val for keeping us on track and supporting Community and Team Members during the transition. You are one amazing individual!

As March begins Val will begin orientating Waterside’s new Community Director Denise Tessier. Denise brings years of experience and knowledge with her from working in the retirement industry. We welcome Denise and her family as they travel from Sudbury, ON.

Q: What did one shrub say to the other shrub?

A: I don’t know about you, but I’m BUSHED!
