MASS IN MALAYALAM
MASS IN MALAYALAM is celebrated
in the church on Sunday evenings at
5:30PM. Those interested in attending the
Malayalam Mass are encouraged to be
present.
Dear Parishioners,
This afternoon at the 12:30 PM Mass we are happy to celebrate with those who were to be fully
initiated or complete their initiation into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil in April or on
Pentecost Sunday in May. These candidates for the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and/or
Confirmation had to wait because of the pandemic and needless to say they have been
very patient. Please pray today for Neil Torres, Megha Ninan Gladson, Elizabeth Grullon-Espinal,
Tanairi Vildoso, Joseph Rua, Jasmine Nair and Kameryn Drakes and their sponsors who have journeyed with
them for a long time.
We are also happy to schedule other sacramental celebrations which were postponed last Spring. On Saturday,
September 12th First Penance will be offered for those children who are prepared to receive First Eucharist,
and on Saturday, September 26th First Eucharist will be celebrated. These children and their parents have
been patient as well and we are most pleased for them at this special time in their faith formation.
Our young men and women who are candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation will complete their
initiation into the Church on Friday, September 18th at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. We welcome Bishop
Raymond Chappetto will administer the sacrament in two separate ceremonies and we pray the newly
confirmed will be guided by the Holy Spirit in the days ahead.
And more good news . . . our beloved Bishop Chappetto is celebrating his 75th birthday this Thursday,
August 20th! How blest we are to know and love Bishop Ray and the good work he did for the parish
throughout the years. Maybe you would like to send him a birthday card and good wishes. His address is:
Holy Family Church, 175-20 74th Avenue, Fresh Meadows, NY 11366.
Congratulations to all and Happy Birthday, Bishop Ray!
AIR CONDITIONING COLLECTION
AIR CONDITIONING COLLECTION is taking
place at this time. The parish is
fortunate to have a cool and
comfortable church to worship
in Sunday after Sunday and
during the week. However, as
you can guess, the expense for
such air conditioning in a large
church is very high. Please
return your offering in the mail or at the Parish Office.
Thank you for your contribution.
PARISH OFFICE
PARISH OFFICE is now
open each day Monday to
Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00

CHURCH REOPENING The church is open for public Masses using the regular Sunday and weekday schedules. Because of the limited 25% capacity we have added an extra Mass at 2:00 PM on a trial basis. We ask everyone’s patience, cooperation and flexibility if you are asked to leave and come back to a different Mass because of the maximum capacity of 25%. This is for everyone’s safety and well being. Also, all group prayer including the Novena of the Miraculous Medal, Divine Mercy Chaplet, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on Thursday afternoons and First Fridays, morning recitation of the Rosary, etc. is suspended for the time being as we begin anew. We will continue to update information and share diocesan norms as we receive them. Thank you again for your cooperation.
