WOMEN’S SUMMER BIBLE STUDY AT ENCOUNTER : “Made to Crave”, Satisfying Your Deepest Desire with God, Not Food. Study led by Christie Underwood and Carole Harbison, July 13 - August 17 from 5-6 PM at Encounter. There are sign up sheets for this class in the Worship Center Foyer or you may contact the church office at 832-4511.

WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY: Meets at 9:45AM in the Chapel. This class is studying the book of Psalms and is led by Richard Harbison.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY: We are excited to be able to offer a weekday Women’s Bible study this summer! The study is Priscilla Shirer's "Discerning the Voice of God". This study will go through July 29th. We will skip July 22nd for VBS. We meet on Tuesdays from 10:00 AM until noon in Room 106. Snacks, coffee and childcare are available. The facilitators for this class are Kristi Barker and Stacey Kollman.

MONDAY NIGHT PRAYER GATHERING: meets each Monday night at 7PM in the Worship Center. Childcare is available up to 10 years of age. Please join us.

KIDS DAY OUT: It’s time for Pre-Registration for the next year of Kid’s Day Out. We are excited to announce that we will be providing KDO in two locations this next year. There will be a Monday & Wednesday program at Encounter (5911-4th Street, Lubbock) and a Tuesday & Thursday program at FBC, Shallowater. Classes will begin on September 2nd, 2014 for the KDO at FBC and September 3rd, 2014 for KDO at Encounter. GUEST PREACHER: We welcome to FBC today, Charles Davenport as our guest preacher. Charles pastored First Baptist Church in Tulia for over 30 years and has an incredible reputation for great preaching and impeccable integrity. He currently serves as the Congregational Strategist/ Field Representative for Texas Baptists for West Texas. We are honored to have him in our church family today!

ADULT CONNECTION GROUP ANNOUNCEMENTS: Opportunities to GROW together are presented through the many Connection Groups, where we study God’s word and grow in fellowship that meet Sunday morning at 9:49 AM and throughout the week. HIGH SCHOOL GIRL’S SUMMER BIBLE STUDY: meets each Tuesday from 2:00 to 3:00PM at the home of Trent & Shelby Hendrick (8110 CR 6220). The study is titled, “Me, Myself, and Lies,” and it is led by Abby Hendrick, Sheree Satterwhite, Kelsee Smith, and Maci Sparkman.

Please be in prayer for the students that are attending camp this week. STUDENTS MONDAY NIGHT PRAYER GATHERING: will resume on Monday, July 14th. This group meets each Monday night at 6:30 PM in the home of Zack and Rebekah Holder, 821 Ave S.

UNIVERSITY MINISTRY CONNECTION GROUP: Meets each Sunday morning at 11 AM at Encounter.

UNIVERSITY MINISTRY BIBLE STUDY: The University Ministry Bible Study meets Tuesday nights at 6:30 PM at Encounter in the Worship Center, 5911-4th Street in Lubbock. Questions? Call Kelsey Harrison at 806-368-2207.

We will be taking a break in August and then begin our Encore First Monday beginning in September. We want you to make plans to be at all the exciting events this fall. September 8th we begin with special musical First Monday with Jack Stone, singer from Muleshoe. Mr. Stone will bring us our own Gaither style concert. October 6th we will have speaker Alice Lowrie from right here in Lubbock Texas. She is the wife of Dr. D.L. Lowrie long time pastor of FBC Lubbock. November 3rd we will hear the amazing piano of Nick Watts of Bacon Height Baptist in Lubbock. Then we finish the year with a special guest group to sing in the Christmas season. When time gets near please sign up in your Connection Groups or call the church office at 832-4511.  

   

You must realize that God loves you but you are separated from God by a sinful nature.

Roman 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

You must believe that God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ as a payment for sin.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Although humanity through sin has separated itself from God, the sacrifice of Jesus, on the cross, bridged that gap.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us.”

All that God asks is that you repent (turn away) from your sins and accept the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross for those sins.

Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

You can make your commitment by coming forward during the song of commitment after the sermon and visiting with one of our pastors or by placing the card in the offering plate and one of our pastors will contact you. You can become a member in the following ways: 1.  By accepting Jesus Christ in your heart as your personal Lord and Savior and being obedient to the Lord’s command to be Biblically baptized. Biblical baptism is a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and is by immersion in order to symbolize the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord. 2.  By letter of recommendation from a church of like faith and order. 3.  By statement that you are a believer in Jesus Christ and have placed your faith in Him as Savior and Lord and have been obedient to a Biblical baptism.
