Trevor Denley During our recent holiday I was able to achieve a long held ambition, to visit Santiago de Compostella. This a world famous pilgrimage site, however we visited it in a rather less energetic way than the many, many thousands of true pilgrims who walk large distances through the Pyrenees to reach their goal, some even doing the last few yards on their knees! They would have encountered and experienced a wide range of emotions and I am sure, issues! I expect they would have wondered if it was all worth it, thought why bother. They would have had their bad days when motivation was non -existent and the good days when they wouldn’t have been able to wait to get started. The joy they showed was moving, but for some there was a question! What next? Well I didn’t walk, but it set me thinking. Our lives too are a continual pilgrimage. We seek a goal. That goal is to reflect the love of Christ bestowed on us so freely in a way that changes society for the better. But like the pilgrims on the Camino trail, that is easier said than done. We too face a lot of obstacles that need to be overcome. Apathy, outright opposition, even aggression. When we have had setbacks it sets us thinking about our own situation, but if we keep our eye on the goal we will not falter. For us the question will always be, have we achieved our goal? The answer will be in our pilgrimage, there will always be another step! Priest-in-Charge of Benefice – Rev. Jordan Ling 0117 3304953 Associate Minister – Rev. www.staidanbristol.co.ukSpecial notices….Thank you……to everybody who made my Installation such a wonderful occasion. I was nervous beforehand but the service showed that when the Church of England put its mind to it they can produce a really uplifting occasion. To see so many there and at the party after really touched Anita and I. Your prayers, good wishes, gifts and support mean so much and show of what a great team of people we are privileged to be members. I apologise if I did not speak to each one of you personally, I did try! Blessings, Trev.

A service of reflection will take place on Sun 2nd Nov 3.30pm and an opportunity to light a candle in memory of those who we have loved but are no longer with us.
