Rudy Enriquez Prompt #1: Summarize your results and any particular “aha moments” that you may have had when working through the “interests-based” assessments on the AzCIS website. What particular career clusters stuck out to you? With respect to the interest profiler, how did your interests score in the artistic / conventional / enterprising / investigative / realistic / social categories? How could you use interests-based assessments to help move your career and your life forward? If you have taken any other interests-based assessments in the past, please comment on those, and any relevant connections to the AzCIS assessments. After Completing the assessment, I was very interesting to see how Science , Technology, Engineering and Mathematics were at the top. Previously to pursuing a degree in organizational leadership, I was studying Electrical Engineering. Although I did not finish that career I had one year left to finish. However, it is very interesting how that is still showing up in life. The next career cluster is Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources with Information Technology tied. I think this type of careers bring me more of a freedom in which I can explored more. For my interest profiler here at the following results: Investigative- 21 Enterprising- 13 Realistic-10 Social- 6 Conventional- 3 After learning about the various interest profiles I've realized that I would be happier moving into a position of doing investigative work. This type of work has to do with doing work that involves working with ideas and thinking instead of physical activity. In addition I also noticed that enterprising is my next highest metric. This type of work has to do with work that has to do with starting new projects. I have to agree with this because I have a passion for staring new projects and persuading others to follow in

Prompt #1: Summarize your results and any particular “aha moments” that you may have had when working through the “interests-based” assessments on the AzCIS website.

For my interest profiler here at the following results: Investigative- 21 Enterprising- 13 Realistic-10 Social- 6 Conventional- 3

After learning about the various interest profiles I've realized that I would be happier moving into a position of doing investigative work. This type of work has to do with doing work that involves working with ideas and thinking instead of physical activity. In addition I also noticed that enterprising is my next highest metric. This type of work has to do with work that has to do with starting new projects. I have to agree with this because I have a passion for staring new projects and persuading others to follow in my footsteps. In addition, this describes people as not being scared to take risk. When I think of new projects I don't focus on the risk but instead on the profit.

Prompt #2: Summarize your results and any particular “aha moments” that you may have had when working through the “skills / work values-based”

assessments through the AzCIS website. What are your top skills? Are these the skills that you highlighted in your e-portfolio (from OGL 498 Pro-Seminar I)? Comment on any differences there, and how you might improve, or add to, the skills section of your e-portfolio based on this new perspective. Also, be sure to comment on your Holland Personality Types scores, and how your skills and interests compared in that regard. How could you use skills-based assessments to help move your career and your life forward? If you have taken any other skills-based assessments in the past, please comment on those, and any relevant connections to the AzCIS assessments.

The skills the I described on my Pro-seminar I were: Leadership, Strong work ethic, Team Work, Problem Solving and Flexibility. The skills selected on the " Skills/work-values" assessment were : Very Satisfying Skills:

Persistence Integrity Teamwork Visualizing Persuading

Moderately Satisfying Skills Social Perception Motor Coordination Depth Perception Inspecting Active Learning Negotiating Directing/Leading Managing Resources

Somewhat Satisfying Skills Stress Tolerance discomfort Telerance categorizing Attention to Detail Reading Writing Listening Synthesizing Analyzing Planning Confronting

Impact of Responsibility. After learning about all these skills, I believe that I am more aware of my skills. I know that persuading has to do with leadership. I like to persuade people to see my vision and ideas. For example, at work I try to persuade my subordinates by painting a picture of what their future can be if they only give more of their effort. In addition, I like to persuade people by understanding what matters most to them. This is focusing on their ideals and values. Furthermore, after learning about these skills I think I need to move some of the skills from " some what" to " moderately." The two skills I plan to work on are planning and confronting. I think that planning is very crucial in one's success. If I don't plan, then I won't be accomplishing anything. Confronting is another skills that I need to develop. Why? because often times I tend to let things happen without confronting them. This type of behavior has made somewhat upset of myself because I don't have the courage to confront things. As a result of this learning I will start confronting things more often.

My top work values are as follows : Achievement (30) , recognition (24) , Independence ( 22) , Support ( 18), Working Relationships( 13), Relationships, (10). I agree with these work values because one of the things that matters most to me is achieving success whether it's in sales, service or getting my subordinates to achieve their goals.

My Holland Personality test are : Social 31 Artistic- 26 Enterprising 25 Investigative- 21 Conventional- 12 Realistic- 9

I agree with the results as well. The description for the " Social" metric states that people who are high in this category like to work with people. The enjoy solving problems and helping other people understand and teach others. I like to teach others and develop them to become better. This is one of the essence of being a leader. Developing others to achieve common goals.

After learning about all these test and what matters to me, I realized a couple great things to continue to move my career forward. First, I like solving problems and I like to think and analyze ideas, persuade people and take on new challenges. In addition, I like to help people and develop them to become better. Furthermore, I like doing investigative work by doing work mentally rather than physically. I think that these are all great things that can help me find work that is directly in line with what I value most.
