Webinar: The Basics

So you want start a Webinar? Of course you would do. It is a great tool for ePreneurs like you to

increase further your businesses via presentations, client meetings etc.

Here’s a simple guide that will introduce you to the basic information about what it is, and how to use it.

What is a Webinar?

It is an online seminar that uses Internet technology to connect the individual hosting the webinar to the

audience (the viewers or listeners of the webinar).

It is not like Skype or Google Hangouts

Unlike in those two, Webinars allows ePreneurs to do more than just video chatting.

Picture yourself in a conference room, delivering a Power Point presentation and interacting with your

audience. In webinars, you do exactly the same but virtually. With the use of today’s technology, you

can do just that conveniently, in the comfort of your home.

Not just you actually. Your audience also can even just wear their pajamas and still attend your

webinars, ask questions via voice or video chat and learn.

Two Types of Webinars

Depending on your needs, you can use either of the two.

Live webinar: If you are a skilled presenter, possessing good communication skills, this is for you.

With this, you deliver your presentation in real time to a live audience.

Pre-recorded: If you are not that good delivering presentation to a live audience, but wants to

present an awesome presentation, this is for you. With it, you can pre-record your presentation,

make some edits, and alterations to come up with a perfect webinar, training sessions, product

review etc. You just invite people to watch or download the pre-recorded webinar on your

website.

How to use a webinar?

You want to host your own webinar? First, you need to pick a webinar service provider. The most

popular of such are GoToWebinar and AnyMeeting. You just visit any of those providers’ websites, and

download the application to begin your Webinar. Some of those are free, and some are paid, but with

free trial period of up to 30 days.

And if you are an audience and wants to attend a webinar, usually you will be given a custom link or a

password by the host in order to access the online seminar.
