We have asked them to think about new ways to learn and encourage them to be risk takers. Programming and collaborative planning were key things for the staff to focus on and we are going to work on this during Semester 2. Have a great week, Mrs Kristy Glyde, Principal Attendance: If your child is unwell, do not send them to school. If they are unwell at school, you or your nominated emergency contact will need to collect them immediately. Please ensure your child’s contact details are up to date. If a student is absent without a medical reason for more than three days, this will be recorded as an unauthorised absence and will be followed up by the school. Thought of the Day Never judge a person by their mistakes, judge them on how they fix them.

Principal’s Message

Waterwise School: On Monday, all classes had a visit from Jane Grebert from Cascade Environmental Centre to discuss how we can become a Waterwise school. Professional development and resources were provided for teachers which were designed to meet the needs of our school. She led each class through a range of activities and included a school water audit and analysis of the school water bill. Students went around the school and looked for dripping taps and leaks, then suggested ways we could improve water usage at home. They were all pretty impressed with the level of the schools consumption and believe having the bubblers not running may save a lot of wasted water too. The Stage 3 students have come up with a few good ideas and are looking to clean up the boys toilet including installing a new mirror, deodoriser and soap dispenser!

Drumming and Dance: It was lovely to see our beautiful dancers and drummers back at it with Miss Vanessa. Even in the wet weather they were having a blast! Good to have some things back to “normal”.

Innovation: Our students are constantly looking at challenges and working towards learning goals to make progress as a learner. We have asked them to think about new ways to learn and encourage them to be risk takers. I try and do this with the staff also and we have great discussions on how we can continue to grow and develop as teachers and leaders. Programming and collaborative planning were key things for the staff to focus on and we are going to work on this during Semester 2.

Cystic Fibrosis Day: On Friday, we will celebrate Cystic Fibrosis Day! Wear something yellow and bring a gold coin donation.

Have a great week, Mrs Kristy Glyde,

Principal

Attendance: If your child is unwell, do not send them to school. If they are unwell at school, you or your nominated emergency contact will need to collect them immediately. Please ensure your child’s contact details are up to date. If a student is absent without a medical reason for more than three days, this will be recorded as an unauthorised absence and will be followed up by the school.

K/1 2/3/4 5/6

K/1 celebrated reaching 1000 points on Class Dojo on Friday. We made crowns, had a pass the parcel, danced and played games. Well done K/1 for all your hard work!

The School Magazine is a popular and very informative text which 2/3/4 enjoy reading. Each month a new addition is published, and we can’t wait to read it!

Our environmental audit group spent time with Miss Grebert, investigating water usage at various locations around our school. They came back to class and presented their findings. Well done to all students!

Art Garden Music

All students K-6 have now had the opportunity to develop skills in many creative techniques using water colours and oil pastels. We have a very talented school. Well done!

Due to wet weather we had an indoor gardening session learning all about herbs. We played the game “what herb is that?”

Our groups needed to stay warm and dry this week, but that didn’t dampen their enthusiasm for playing music. Congratulations to Esme, Eedie, Jarrah, Benji and Vivi for performing excellently to the group.

PRODUCE TABLE Students sell produce they have grown at school on a Produce table. 50c flowers & magazines $1 lettuce bunch $2 succulents!!! $2.50-$3.50 worm juice
