Discuss: What does it mean to worry? (to be unsure, scared or uneasy about things). Have you ever worried about something? What was it? 2. Let the kids know that everyone worries sometimes, but the good news is that Jesus tells us we don't need to worry! Jesus loves us so much and he promises to look after us and help us with our worries! Use paper and crayons or markers to draw pictures of things that the kids worry about sometimes. HEAR 3. Discuss: Why do we praise God? How does God give you joy? 4. Explain that today's Bible story are the words of Jesus! Ask the kids to listen carefully to find out how God takes care of the birds and the flowers. 5. Look up and read Matthew 6:25-34 in a children's Bible. 6. Ask: How does God take care of the birds? (he gives them food). How does God take care of the flowers? (He makes them more beautiful than the robes of a king!) 7. Explain that just like God cares for the birds and the flowers, he promises to take care of each one of us too. 8. Demonstrate how to crouch like a seed and then grow into a flower. Encourage the kids to be flowers, too. Say: God takes care of the flowers and he will take care of me! Next, fly around the room like birds together. Say: God takes care of the birds and he will take care of me! 9. Discuss: Can you think of some ways that God takes care of you and your family? HUDDLE 10. Use an empty tissue box or a bag and let the kids know that we are going to give all our worries to Jesus. Encourage the kids to fold up the drawing of their worries and put it into the box/bag. As they drop it in say, "We trust you with all our worries Jesus! Thank you for taking care of ________ [child's name]."
