Year 4 Camp
Great work This week I had some students visit to show me their great work. Sebastian from 1/2B showed me his great writing. Scout, Annaliese and Azriel from K/1H has achieved 120 dojo points and Charlotte, Miller, Luke, Flynn and Jaxon from 3G shared their ANZAC information reports with me. Jed and Maddy from 5/6B read me their persuasive texts, Shannen from 4D shared her writing and Angus, Ben, Alyssa and Charlotte from 3G read me their speeches. Kyrone from 1/2B achieved 100 dojo points, Jayden from 5/6O read me his fascinating speech and Bella, Katherine and Evie showed me their ANZAC letters. Well done guys, keep up the great work.
ANZAC Day We held our school ANZAC Day ceremony on Wednesday 27th April. Our Choir and our Band performed at our ANZAC Assembly and our student leaders coordinated a very moving and informative presentation. A huge thank you to Mrs Beckton and the Leadership Team for organising our ANZAC Day Assembly.
Bounce Back Laura Debnam will be presenting parent information sessions on Bounce Back and KidsMatter next Wednesday 4th May in the Library AV Room. There will be two sessions, one at 2:00 pm and another at 6:00 pm. The sessions will go for 45 minutes. Please RSVP to [email protected]
CARES – Community and Education Bike Safety On Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th May our Year 6 students will participate in a Bike Education and Safety day at Palmdale. The CARES program will be presented by NSW Police Officers and the students will participate in an outdoor obstacle course to enhance basic cycle skills on a roadway cycle track. Please ensure permission notes and money have been provided to class teachers.

Mother’s Day Stall Our Mother’s Day Stall will be held on Friday 6th May and there will be a variety of gifts for purchase.
Annual School Report The 2015 Annual School Report is available on the school website. The Annual School Report profiles achievements of the 2015 school year.
NAPLAN 2015 The NAPLAN tests for Years 3 and 5 will take place in week 4. If you have a student in Year 3 or Year 5, please ensure they are at school on time on Tuesday 10th May, Wednesday 11th May and Thursday 12th May. 10th May - Language (test time 40 min) - Year 3 and Year 5 - Writing (test time 40 min) - Year 3 and Year 5 11th May - Reading (test time 50 min) - Year 3 and Year 5 12th May - Numeracy (test time 50 min) - Year 3 and Year 5 13th May - Catch up testing day
Cross Country Our school K-6 Cross Country Carnival will be held at school on Friday 13th May, 11:30 am to 1:15 pm. Parents and carers are welcome to attend.
Volunteers Needed for Distributing K Start Flyers In preparation for K Start this year, we are looking for volunteers who can distribute K Start flyers to houses in the Niagara Park School catchment area. With 82 streets to cover many hands (and feet) will make light work! The letterbox drop will begin next week. If you can help please see the ladies in the front office to collect the flyers and choose the streets you would like to do the letterbox drop in. Alternatively you can email [email protected] requesting the streets you would like to cover and the flyers will be sent home with your child.
Year 4 Camp - Morisset Year 4 students are off to camp on Monday, 23 May and will be returning on Tuesday 24th May. All medical consent forms must be returned in order for students to attend. All payments should be finalised unless alternate arrangements have been made with the school. Students should be at school no later than 8:30 am on Monday morning. Anticipated return to school is approximately 2:00 pm on Tuesday. Parents will be updated via the school App if there is significant change to this time.
Mrs Williams Long Service Leave Mrs Williams will be taking Long Service Leave from Friday 29th April for two weeks. During this period of leave Miss Alanna Nicholson will be teaching the class.
LMBR Niagara Park Public School will transition to the new NSW public schools’ finance system (Learning Management and Business Reform - LMBR) and will have a new bank account on 16th May, 2016. To ensure a smooth transition, there will be changes to the way we accept parent or carer payments. Direct deposits: As of 10th May, 2016 we will no longer accept direct deposits into our current school bank account as we prepare to close this account and transition to the new one. Any payments made using direct deposit after this date cannot be properly allocated to a student’s account in a timely manner. Please ensure you have made any outstanding direct deposits before 10th May, 2016. Cash, cheque and online payments: Between 11th May, 2016 and 17th May, 2016 we will also not be able to accept payments by cash, cheque or online as we prepare to close our current bank account and transition to the new one. Please ensure that you have made any outstanding payments before 11th May, 2016. From 16th May, 2016 online payments will be accepted as before and from 17th May, 2016 cash and cheque payments will be accepted as before.
