I am a very proud Principal and
Mum this week!
I t h a s b e e n wo n d e r f u l to
w e l c o m e o u r n e w Y e a r 7
learners into school this week.
T h e y h a v e s e t t l e d i n
exceptional ly wel l and are
already showing us what great
learners they are, their attitude is
fantastic! I also had the pleasure
of being at the Performance
Achievement Awards night on
Wednesday evening, again it
w a s a r e m i n d e r o f w h a t
incredible talent we have here
a t D a r t o n C o l l e g e a s w e
r e v i e w e d b o t h t e a m a n d
policy landscape. There will be
significant budgetary challenges
ahead and the need for al l
schools to consider how they will
work with others to address these
and secure improvement.

and 4 School Direct students,
gruelling but great to meet so
much talent!
My proud mum moments sealed
my week with my eldest son
secur ing his medical school
elective in New Zealand and my
middle son achieving a first at the
end of h i s seco nd year a t
University! Meanwhile the baby of
the family (18) is currently on
hol iday wi th 8 other lads in
MaliaIm trying to blank that
out!

I spent Wednesday of this week
facilitating an event for other
National Leaders of Education
from across Yorkshire and the
Humber. One of the key note
speakers was Michael Pain who is
a Director of Forum Education. His
ta lk wa s i ncr ed ib l y tho ught
provoking and he shared some
key messages about how schools
will need to adapt to the new

Performance Achievement Awards Evening - 8th July
Congratulations to all winners of the Performance Faculty Achievement Awards - great work!
Brilliant work from learners who performed at the above event - epic!
Well done to all new Year 7 learners on completing the first week of their transition - keep up the good work !
A fantastic evening which involved many learners receiving awards for
sports, drama, dance and music achievements. Alishia Coles won the
award for Outstanding Commitment to Performance, Team of the year
went to Under 13s Rugby with Performance Personality of the year
being awarded to Jack Stainrod picture above - well done Jack !
New Year 7 Learners
The week has been a busy one
with over 230 New Year 7 learners
joining us for their two week
transition.
All new learners have settled in
well and have fully embraced
secondary school life with ease.
They have also adapted to
moving around the building to
their lessons and have enjoyed
interacting wi th our current
l e a r n e r s a n d en jo y i ng th e
excellent catering facilities which
are available 8.00am - 5.00pm
