Week 8, 9 - In detail; detailing volume

Week 8 and 9 are working on the same drawing so I would

like to combine them together. The drawing I was working on is at Ormond College CTM, at the joint of sunroom and student com-mon space, showing the detail of the glass roof joint, and also joint between the concrete floor slab and the block wall, and also other add ons.

Week 8 is the head start of this detailed drawing. The

actual size of the section detail was drawn. Which shows how the section actually looks like when it comes to actual size. The drawing would then be further elaborate to a 3D sketch, showing the vol-ume of the section which further shows the detail on the drawing.

Week 10 - On site (take 2)

The “light well” kind of design and also the framing structure of the main body showing how different members work together with different length and material

The wood column combining with steel beam provides great stability but low in cost, while interesting it is using the beam pocket method for the joint, this provides great stability on horizontal, but it is quite weak on the lateral force.

The wooden wall is connected by tongue-and-groove, which give a perfect connec-tion and also a stylish appearance.

The wall showing the waterproofing system illustrated in the textbook chapter 7. Dif-ferent layers have different functions and protect the basement from moisture.
