20th Sunday in Ordinary Time – Jesus Christ is the living bread that came down from heaven. The deepest hungers and yearnings of the human heart are satisfied when we turn to Christ. Jesus, the living bread come down from heaven, gives us the gift of himself in the Eucharist. This allows us to draw closer to him and receive the grace to live as his followers. It is Jesus who gives us a peace the world cannot give. He imbues our lives with meaning, and offers us the promise and hope of eternal life in heaven. In the first reading, true wisdom that comes from God is personified in the feminine, like a hostess who sets her abundant table before her guests and invites them to enjoy her bounty. The reading from Ephesians reminds us of the importance of striving to do God’s will and serving him with grateful hearts. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches that he is the living bread come down from heaven.

Children: Children: Children: Children: How does receiving communion help you grow in your faith? How does it help you love others?

Youth:Youth:Youth:Youth: Jesus promises us eternal life if we follow him and believe. What makes it hard for you to believe? What is easy about faith?

AdultsAdultsAdultsAdults:::: How does your faith in Jesus nourish your own life? How does the Eucharist nourish you?

Filled with the Spirit, address

one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.

Youth Group Attends SoutfestYouth Group Attends SoutfestYouth Group Attends SoutfestYouth Group Attends Soutfest Nine teens and seven adults traveled to Gilford, NH for the annual New England Soulfest. Soulfest is a unique Mission Retreat for our teens and adults. It is a music festival wrapped inside of the Love of Jesus. The 3 day event featured several speakers and 6 stag-es where a variety of Christian music was played along with a lot of witnessing and ministry. There was a tent with a prayer team available to pray with anyone need-ing prayer, and a tent set up with information on the ef-forts to end sexual exploitation of children and abuse of women. Among the many ministries there were: Suicide Prevention Ministry, Compassion International, Mission to Bring Clean Water to Villages in Africa, NH Right to Life, Rock for Life, and New Hampshire Youth Fest Or-ganizers. The NH Youth Fest Organizers sponsored our daily liturgy and due to the large Catholic presence we will finally have a tent to worship in, and for the first time this year we had anticipated Mass on Saturday. Many of the big artists come to this festival because of the great faith they see in the people and because it is always about God. This was reflected in the wonderful transformation of our youth and adults as they experi-enced God in a way that few places can achieve. We want to return next year!!
