4th Grade News Important Dates
Character Word: Self-Control
Its hard to believe we are finishing our second week of second quarter!
This quarter we are digging deeper into multiplication with double digits as well asfour digit division. Multiplication fact fluency is crucial to help your child to under-stand the process and solve these more challenging problems. Please find time weevening to practice, even if only for a few minutes.
In writing, we have switched our writing genre to informational text. We are using asimilar format to organize our thoughts before writing as we did with the personalnarratives.
This week in science, we have been learning about the types of ecosystems and theparts that make up these systems, both living and nonliving.
Next week is Red Ribbon Week!
Monday is Merica Monday...United We Stand in a Drug -Free Land Everyone wearsred, white and blue!
Tuesday is Team Up Against Drugs. Wear your sports jerseys.
Wednesday is Camouflage DayDrugs Cant Find Us...wear camouflage.
Thursday is Decade Day...Drugs are OLD News ...Wear your favorite decade attire.
Friday is Red Spirit Day We are RED -Y to Fight the War on Drugs ...wear yourred and/or Nixa pride!
Our Fall Party is next week! A note was sent home asking for donations. If you wouldlike to donate pretzel sticks, our PTA would greatly appreciate it!

Veteran Photos wanted!If you have a family member (ancestor, past or currently serving) in the military andwould like to include them in the slide show to honor veterans at our Nov. 10 th assemblyplease submit their photo no later than Wed., Oct. 29 th . These jpeg or scanned photos should be e-mailed to [email protected] . Photos in uniform are preferred.Please include: name, branch of military & rank of soldier (if known)Students first/last name and how they are related to the student submitting them.Make plans to attend our Veterans Day program on Monday, Nov. 10 th at 9:00 a.m.!
If you are bringing photos to me, I prefer them in an envelope to help keep them clean.Please make sure to write your childs name on the envelope and if possible name of soldieron back of photo.
