Independent ReadingO Reading that will be done in the students’ own

time and independentlyO Every Thursday a Reading Log is due

O 3-4 sentences summarizing what they read for the week

O Students will have about a month, or a little more, to read each novelO In the end, we will do an in-class project

based on their independent readingO Sometimes, I will tell them they need to be

reading a specific genre.

Grades

O New grading scale: 100-91 = A 90-81 = B 80-71 = C 70-63 = D 62-0 = F

O Grades will be listed as numbers on the report card.
