HE VIEW FROM WHERE YOU STAND Imagine yourself in the Jerusalem marketplace Easter afternoon. An amazing story is circulating. That teacher who was crucified on Friday, his body is missing! People readily share the "facts' they'd seen for themselves: a rock rolled aside, a discarded pile of linens, no body inside. Listen as questions rattle past: Where did the body go? Who took it? Was it stolen, hidden, revived? This is one for Jerusalem's edition of Ripley's Believe It or Not. Suspicious glances are cast in every direction of a city square filled with believers, believers in an empty tomb. Now step inside the upper room where a different story is being told. Prayer and mourning has given way to celebration. The Messiah has risen! Scripture is fulfilled, salvation has come to the world. The painful events of Friday's crucifixion have melted into a miracle of resurrection, giving new hope to Jesus' followers. Suddenly they are energized: there is great work to do, a world to reach with good news! Eyes filled with love an hope beam from every face in a room filled with believers, believers in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ... Where would you chose to stand?

A MESSAGE FROM HNOM FINANCE COUNCIL. Fellow parishioners. As you know HNOM and all other Churches in the Archdiocese have been closed for some weeks now. These are difficult times for our families and our Parish. Undoubtedly there are families with reduced incomes because of COVID-19. Clearly it is very difficult for us to maintain out weekly donations when our Church is closed unless we are on the Paypal donation system or are mailing cheques to the Parish office. Our collection revenues for March 2020 are dramatically less than planned and we expect April to be worse given the current situation. Yet our monthly operational expenses continue as normal. We are making a special appeal for you to consider signing up for PayPal donations. It is easily done and allows you to contribute weekly from your account. If you do not wish to contribute in this way, then please consider mailing in your cheques to the Parish office until we are able to resume normal Church operations. In this way we can continue to meet our HNOM expenses. Thank you for your continuing generosity in these very difficult times. Jim Moore - Chairperson HNOM Finance Council

ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen. St. Alphonsus de Liguori

DEVELOPMENT & PEACE The Development and Peace “ShareLent” ordered collection has been postponed and will take place sometime in June.

Enjoy a happy & healthy Easter. 🙏

FR. PAUL’S EASTER MESSAGE This Easter will be very different for us all due to the Covid 19 outbreak. Unlike normal years, we will not be able to gather together with family and friends or as a parish community to celebrate the Eucharist for the Resurrection of the Lord. Although we are not together, let us not forget the reason we celebrate Easter; Jesus Christ and his great victory over sin and death. During the Sacred Triduum, Jesus left us an example of humility and service that truly showed us God’s love. Let us take time during this Easter season to reflect on how we too can be models of humility and service for our brothers and sisters and bring God’s love to the world. Let us pray that our community may come together soon and be stronger and more resolved to show the world Christ’s love for all. Stay safe at home and pray for an end to this deadly virus.

Easter Sunday Morning Smile A man wanted an Easter pet for his daughter. He looked at a baby chick and a baby rabbit. They were both very cute, but he decided to buy the baby chick … “because it was a little "cheeper!"

EASTER BELLS! Even though there will be no Easter services in the town this Sunday, the area churches, including ours, will be ringing their church bells simultaneously on Easter Sunday at 12 noon in celebration of the Resurrection.
