Camellia Banquet and Event Unique Venue

Camellia is the main banquet room, which offers an ambience harmoniously integrated with the garden extending outside the large windows using natural materials and the earth color as a basic tone for the interior. The commanding garden view of the prominent three-story pagoda is a highlight of the scenery at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo and creates a wide open hall space together with high ceiling.

Mokushundo

Tucked away in a quiet grove in the garden, Mokushundo serves old-style dishes cooked on hot lava rocks from Mount Fuji, as well as original iron-kettle kaiseki cuisine. The restaurant has an early 20th-century retro appeal.

Chu-an

Chu-an, a sushi restaurant, is housed in a traditional tea house building, which can also still be used for traditional tea ceremonies. Our sushi chefs, supreme masters of their craft, prepare Tokyo's famous Edo-style sushi, the type that people the world over picture when they think of sushi.

Baron Fujita, the founder of our company, Tea Master

Our Hotel’s Treasure, Tea house, Zangetsu (残月）Omotesenke (one of two traditional styles of tea ceremony) is practiced at this tea house, which was originally built in the founder of our company, Baron Fujita’s villa in Hakone100 years ago. Zangetsu was then brought to Chinzanso in 1947. On February 17, 2004, it was registered as a Tangible Cultural Asset of Japan. We are so pleased to welcome guests fromall over the world in this tranquil tea house.

Experience the traditional Japanese tea ceremony in our historic tea houses

Our traditional Japanese tea houses, located in the garden, are very old buildings and one of them has been registered as a tangible cultural asset. The tea ceremony is an art form that goes back more than 1,000 years. It is not about drinking the tea, it is a ritual with precise and graceful movements in a careful sequence. To become a tea ceremony master takes at least 10 years of study and practice.

Our trained tea master will lead a tea ceremony for you upon request.
