C. Educational Center - Masonville Cove - 1000 Frankfurst Ave, Baltimore 21226. Achieving: Near Zero, Net Energy, of course that means: producing as much energy as using. Features: geothermal, passive and PV solar panels, super tight building envelope, maximized placement on lot harnessing site benefits, also has restored wetland nature park.

D. Home - 305 Cedarcroft Road, Baltimore 21212 PV electric generation, rainwater diversion, rainwater barrel collection system; solar roof PRIUS on display.

E. Solar Heated Pool - 3429 Janellen Drive, Pikesville 21208 The family installed a rooftop, solar pool heating system in the summer of 2008 and have been delighted with the performance. They are heating their 1000 square foot pool to approximately 10 degrees above what it would normally be (at no extra cost). They have increased the use of their recreational investment and extended their swim season by months. The solar system consists of 10 Solar Industries solar collectors (500 square feet of collectors) and a Heliotrope automatic controller that diverts pool water to the panels when the panel temperature exceeds the pool temperature. The solar system utilizes the existing pump/filter system to route the water to the solar panels. Also, the system controller can be set for a maximum pool temperature to avoid overheating the pool in the hottest summer months.

F. Home - 3434 Birch Hollow Rd, Baltimore 21208 4.2 kW system in this energy-efficient home. Solar makes sense even without lots of other major changes to your home. This is an example of a typical suburban home with a 4.2 kW solar array. No change to the homeowners lifestyle, they just use cleaner electricity and after an easy, turnkey solar installation.

G. Home and Garage - 334 Delight Meadows Drive, Reisterstown 21136 Straw bale garage with BioBased foam and recycled slab insulation, two green roofs, solar thermal heat, Incinolet (uses electric heat to reduce human waste (urine, solids, paper) to a small amount of clean ash) toilet

H. Green-building certified Winery business– 14463 Black Ankle Road, Mt Airy 21771 The facility is constructed of straw bale, clay, stone and wood (harvested from the site), solar PV system, and a living roof. – On the farm, bio-dynamic techniques with minimal pesticide use.

I. Home – 7176 Millbury Ct. Elkridge 21075 4.2 kW system powering a traditional single family home. This system will save the homeowners over $800 in electricity costs this year!

J. Friends Community School 5901 Westchester Park Drive College Park, MD 20740 Energy features: strawbale construction, living roof, rain garden, bio retention ponds, radiant floor tube heating, environmentally friendly ventilation, low energy lighting, solar tubes, clerestory and large wall windows, all classrooms facing south, waterless fixtures, energy-efficient boilers/water pipes/valves, low VOC rugs & paints, replaceable rug squares in admin areas, recycled and recyclable pressed wood post construction, etc. About the building: One of the largest straw bale buildings in the world, FCS' new (2 year old) home offers 1) a physical environment that is a model of how to minimize impact on the natural world within a moderate budget, and 2) a learning environment that integrates the building and environmental stewardship into the curricula and daily lives of the students. The building has won two national "green" awards. The 17 acre campus is surrounded by Greenbelt National Park.
