Public Works would like to remind our Community Members that it is the responsibility of the homeowner to take the proper measures so that their basement will not flood during the spring.

Public Works is not responsible for any flooding that may arise. And they do not allow members of our community to borrow any equipment used to empty out their basements. In the past, equipment was lent out and never returned.

Below is a list of ways a homeowner can do to prevent flooding:

1. Make sure to seal your windows; 2. Make sure your gutters are not down spouting water right beside the foundation; 3. Make sure the grading allows the water to be removed away from your house; 4. Make sure there is no pools of water sitting near your house; 5. Make sure you have no cracks or gaps in the foundation; 6. Make sure the drainage pipe around your house is not blocked at the outlet.
