Welfare Transition Program Statistics For the Program Year of 2012-2013Region 1 served 1282 individuals during the 2012-2013 program year.Number of active cases each month = 600-650There were 459 exits to employment during the program year which is an increase of 163% over LY. The average hourly wage increased from $8.41 LY to $8.78.164 participants were enrolled in Vocational Education versus 82 the prior year65 exits to employment were direct hires from the participants work experience worksite.During the year, 12 participants were approved for Relocation Assistance.

BREAKFAST FRIDAY, JUNE 21st, 2013 IN THE INTERNET CAF, PENSACOLA ONE STOP CENTER, ON L STREETParticipation Breakfast CelebrationOur Board of Directors had promised the WT staff a celebration if a monthly participation rate of 50% or better was achieved.

The WT staff achieved a 54.9% participation rate for April followed by a 50.6% participation rate for May. It was time to celebrate!! During June the Board of Directors threw a Breakfast Celebration in recognition of the WT staffs best ever monthly participation rate. The Workforce Escarosa staff and members of the Board of Directors also attended the breakfast to help us celebrate this milestone.

Fatina DupreeMs. Dupree entered the WT Program in Oct. 2012, with several barriers that made it difficult for her to gain meaningful employment. Shes a single mother of five children, lacked a high school education and has a criminal background. Ms. Dupree faced another challenge having only two remaining months of her life time limit on welfare. During these two months Ms. Dupree attended job readiness classes, gained work experience while assigned to WT worksites, and studied for her GED. Through her own initiative and perseverance, Ms. Dupree obtained her GED and was successful in gaining fulltime employment. Ms. Dupree has learned that by setting goals and maintaining a positive attitude many things can be accomplished. Congratulations Ms. Dupree!!

Cherie SkabialkaMs. Skabialka entered our program in March 2013, as a single parent with four children, no high school diploma and no work experience. However, she did have goals which included obtaining a GED, entering the workforce and enrolling in college. Ms. Skabialka completed the GED program in just two months and during the same time period was able to gain clerical experience through community work experience assignments. In a matter of days Cherie was then offered employment with a local law firm as a Receptionist. She is now pursuing an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies.
