One day on a sunny Monday morning, two raindrops

met in a pond and stuck together. Their names were

Wendy and Willy. It was love at first sight. Many said it

was fate that brought them together, others said it was

just cohesion.

Wendy and Willy grew up together and became best friends.

They were so close to each other, Wendy and Willy decided to

get married. Their wedding was at a beautiful underwater

palace. The water was warm ,but not too hot. The specific heat

always kept the water from getting really hot. All of Wendy’s

and Willy’s friends and family came. Everyone surprised them

with a honeymoon to the water cycle.

Wendy and Willy sat in the Waterport waiting, they were so excited to go on their honeymoon. Finally, a lady’s voice came over the speakers, “Evaporation plane has just landed. You may now get on board.”

Neither Wendy or Willy had ever become water vapor. Wendy couldn’t wait to get to Condensation City. 3

While Wendy and Willy were on the plane, they made two new friends, Aqua and Austin. They were siblings, it was also there first time to become water vapor. A lot of passengers on the plane had made new friends, there was polarity in the air.

“What part of the cycle are you looking forward to the most, Wendy?” Aqua asked.

“Condensation, I want to see everything from the sky. I bet it’ll all be super small.”

“Everyone prepare for landing, we will becoming vapor in a minute.” said the fight attendant.

Willy jumped up in excitement, the only thing better than marrying Wendy was going through the water cycle with her.

Slowly, but surely, all the raindrops in the plane turned slowly into a gas and formed one big cloud. It felt different to be a gas instead of a liquid. Wendy and Willy were so ecstatic, they were actually a cloud!

After a couple days of being a big beautiful cloud at the resort, the plane arrived to bring them back home. Wendy and Willy are a bit disappointed, yet they couldn't wait to see all their family and friends back home.

“Perception plane is now boarding” a woman’s voice said over the speakers.

Wendy and Willy got on board as Aqua and Austin waved goodbye. It was a nice, warm day so they went down as a soft drizzle, but this honeymoon wasn’t over yet.

The plane was almost arriving to the pond when it crashed. They had to take the emergency exit and jumped on a glass window. Wendy, Willy, and all the other raindrops stuck to the window, this is called adhesion.

Eventually, they fell off and landed in a flower bed. A rollercoaster called The Capillary Action sucked them up a flower stem.

A really steep part of The Capillary Action is coming up ahead and Wendy and Willy get thrown off the rollercoaster, and land back into the pond. They see their friend, Sam, the water strider floating on top of the water. Sam is demonstrating surface tension.

“How was the honeymoon?” asked Sam.

“It was great, but we had a crash on the way back.” responded Willy.

“Look at that gorgeous boat floating on the pond”, Wendy observed.

“How does something that big float?”, Sam questioned.

“Well, we water molecules have a density of 1 g/mL. Anything less dense then that will float.” Willy answered.

Sam noticed that a passenger on the boat threw a candy bar overboard and it completely dissolved.

“Why did that candy bar disslove? Does that have to do with density to?” Sam asked.

“No, that’s because water is the universal solvent. We can dissolve more things than any other liquid.” explained Willy.

“Wow, I’m learning so much about water today. I’m sorry, but I have to go.” Sam told the couple.

After Sam leaves, Wendy and Willy decide to go visit Wendy’s parents.

“How was the honeymoon, kids?” asked Mrs. Wetter.

“It was great, Mom. And, can you please not call us kids.” Wendy responded.

“Okay, okay. Oh, you two kids have grown so much, and I’m so proud of you, the both of you.”

“Thanks, Mrs. Wetter. We must get back home now.” Willy said.

“Okay, thanks for coming.” Mrs. Wetter responded.
