It was terrific to have our local State Member for

Granville Julia Finn (MP) join Wentworthville PS for

Walk to School Safely day!

Thank you to everyone who participated in Walk

Safely To School Day in Week 3. It is great to see

families spending time outdoors and staying healthy

with their children. We encourage all families to walk

to and from school as often as possible.

Here are some safety reminders about walking to and from school:

All children under 10 years of age must hold an adult's hand when crossing

the road

Remember to look left and then right before crossing the road

Keep your eyes out for cars that are backing out of their driveways

Keep your phone in your pocket or bag to stay focused on your

surroundings

Kindergarten Excursion to the Farm

On Thursday 25th October, 2018 (Term 4, Week 2) Kindergarten students will visit Calmsley Hill City Farm

at Abbotsbury. This excursion is a valuable learning experience for the children and it will consolidate their

learning in the classrooms about Life Cycles and Paddock to Plate.

We will travel by bus to the venue. Total cost for entry, return bus fare and a tractor ride is anticipated to be

$30.00. Further information and permission notes will be sent home mid Term 3.

Dear Families,

WE NEED YOUR HELP

Volunteers are needed to assist in a variety of roles within the Uniform Shop,

Canteen and fundraising events throughout the year. Without generous support

from volunteers many of the opportunities that our children currently receive

would not be possible. Many of our volunteers give up their own time to help run

the Canteen & Uniform shop and arrange events for your children to take part in.

To those of you who completed the volunteer drive note which was issued

during Term 1 we appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you either

in the Canteen, Uniform Shop or at a fundraising event.

If you are interested in volunteering at school in our upcoming events please complete an Appendix 5 and

supply 100 points of identification to the school office to be put on our volunteering list.

We require volunteers for the following:

Mondays in the Uniform Shop for two hours per week.

Tuesdays & Wednesdays in the Canteen for two hours per week on each day

Our next fundraiser is PIZZA DAY on Thursday 28th June. We need volunteers to assist with

the packing of pizza slices and distribution to classes. If you can spare an hour or so on that

day please notify the office and supply your Appendix 5 & 100 points of ID together with your

name & phone number and the P&C President will contact you directly to confirm receipt of

your interest in assisting with this event.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday 6th of June at 6.00pm in the School Staff Room. Please come along

and find out more about what your P&C does for your school.

If you have questions or would like to give suggestions, please don’t hesitate to email us on [email protected]

Kind regards, Leanne Keighley President Wentworthville Public School P&C

We have had our first Uniform Committee meeting. Thank you for the wonderful ladies who have agreed to

be a part of the committee. I am looking forward to working with you all.

In the meeting we discussed our plans for the year ahead. We are looking specifically at our Boys Summer

and Winter uniforms, particularly what they look like now and some possible changes we might like to

make to them.

We look forward to sharing our ideas with you all and seeing what you think. Stay tuned for opportunities

during the coming months where you can have your say. We really value your input.
