WESTSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH APRIL 2016 NEWSLETTER of hundreds of volunteers that serve there. A typical night serving at 541 includes having a delicious meal togeth- er, spending time cleaning, and then finishing the night in prayer and song. It is exciting to be a part of the amazing work they are doing in the Barton Street community. Another focus of the Outreach Team is serving here at home. Our Hospitality Team comes alongside other Westside programs to supplement with food and beverage. The Hospitality Team’s goal is to make everyone feel welcome by providing good food and fellowship. No one likes to think about death. It’s frightening and depressing. Death has a way of stealing our purpose and meaning. Worst of all, death gets the final word. Or does it? In this series we will look at how the resurrection of Jesus overwhelms death and changes everything about our lives. Since September, the number of volun- teers on the Hospitality Team has exploded. There are many roles a Hospi- tality Team member fulfills including baking, setting up, serving food, and cleaning up for the next great event. We are told to use our gifts, whatever gifts those might be, to serve one anoth- er. There are lots of ways to do this, and one way is through food.
